Just wondering how many people do not make ressies and just eat cs. I have my ressies made for breakfasts, but I am seriously thinking of cancelling the ressies and just going by the seat of my pants :lmao:

I would keep my CRT (paid for) and spirit of aloha and o'hana but I am thinking everything else. We are not on the dining plan and the reason that we didn't want it was so we were not tied down and our room discount was awesome. But as we get closer to the trip I really have no interest in even keeping my ressies. Am I the only one:confused3

Here's what I have:

Breakfast:
CRT, Crystal Palace, Olivia's, Kona, Tusker House, O'hana

Lunch:
Sci fi, plaza

Dinner:
Shula's (will definately keep this one!), 50's prime time, Spirit of aloha

I think that's it....can't remember!

I am thinking of cancelling all breakfasts except CRT and O'hana. Am I crazy?

in a stage where we eat mostly CS meals. The kids are at an age where being away from the rides is absolute torture. There was a time (BK and early K) when we ate everywhere. My wife and I often speak fondly of those dining experiences and plan for when we can return to them (soon we hope).

There's nothing wrong with eating mainly CS. There is variety if you look. The MK and Epcot have a fairly wide variety of foods. DAK has a few things and DHS is wanting but we spend less time in those two parks.

we are doing dxdp for the first 2 nights at akv, then nothing planned whatsoever for the next 6.

I like it!

Stress free, never having to be somewhere at a specific time. We are at BCV so close to the fountain at the swan, and B&C for suedo sitdown. The rest we will wing it or venture offsite :scared1:

I'll usually do one or two "nice" meals and the rest CS. I love the CS in the World Showcase. It's cheaper, you can still get beer and wine, and it's a lot of exotic food. And doing the CS way, I can afford more of it. ;)

Mostly CS here and it is just DW and I. When we do TS it is by the seat of our pants. Our days are dictated by our park touring plans and not ADR's. As posted earlier, there is plenty of variety in CS if you look. :)

Thanks everyone! I think I am going to go over our dining plans again tonight and cancel most of them. We still have the spirit of aloha scheduled and the pirates and pals voyage, but I think we would rather fly by the seat of our pants as well!

Without the Dining Plan, we do mostly CS. When it is hot and crowded, I really appreciate TS but other than that, I'd rather eat at maybe 2 TS and play the rest by ear with CS. I love being able to be flexible with our plans.

Have a great trip :goodvibes

If you are not going during free dining or another overly busy time period it is a lot easier than the boards make it seem to get into most TS places. I usually go solo during marathon weekend and the last couple of times the only ADR I made was Boma. I had no problem walking up to Biergarden, Tusker House, San Angel Inn, or Crystal Palace on my last trip. If you are there non-peak and are willing to eat at non standard times most restaurants will be able to get you in. LeCellier at 5pm may not be possible of course, but it is doable if the crowds are low.

Over my first 4 trips to Disney and working in the parks for 4 months, I never ate at a TS restaurant. Our 5th trip was free dining and now we're hooked on making just a few ADRs per trip. Really though, those trips where we only ate CS were great. We weren't tied down by ADRs, spent a lot less money and had a great time. Our favorite thing to do is snack around the world at Epcot.

Based on the fact that you already have ADR's I am guessing you are going during free dining - since free dining goes on till almost Christmas! If you are going during a free dining period and want to eat at table service yes you are crazy. To the poster who previously said it is not a problem to get in during free dining I respectfully disagree. Maybe it was that way in the past, or maybe if you have a very small party but I did not find this to be the case last year. We had ADR's but unfortunately we had mostly character meals and my middle child turned out to be afraid of characters! We cancelled and attempted both walk in's and other adrs. I literally spent about 3 hours on the phone, with the conceirge and walking up to restaurants trying to get the 5 us in other places. I would call and try 6 different places at a time. Nope booked, nope booked, nope booked. Eventually we did get in places, ate at later or earlier times or had to go to places that maybe were out of the way (at a resort). So can it be done? Yes, probably. Will it be convenient? Probably not. If you are not going during free dining, don't care if you only eat CS or are willing to eat very late, very early, at a resort 2 hours and 3 transfers from the park you are in etc. it can be done. But it may not be worth it!

I can imagine it would be hard to get ts if it's free dining! We are going during free dining but we are not on the free dining plan. We did the room discount. Quite frankly, I think I am just as happy going to the bakeries for breakfast!! I am going to keep I think 3 ts ressies and just cancel out the rest. It just seems like too much of a hassle to be here and be there, especially if we decide we want to do a different park in the afternoon or morning! Thanks for the advice everyone! It is greatly appreciated:thumbsup2
