Anyone not like Dole Whips???

Add me to the like them, but think they're ridiculously overhyped! I can get them at Orange Leaf and our state fair. I am sad they got rid of the orange Dole Whip though, because I loved getting a pineapple juice float with it!

Waaaaaay down my list of favorite snacks. Pretty much the definition of overhyped.

They're ok, but not high up on my list. Last trip DD and I shared one and that was good enough for me. It had been a few trips since I'd had one and I'm not sure that I'll even bother having one this trip. Too many other tasty snacks!!

I don't like them. I'd much rather have plain pineapple juice or a pineapple spear. I've never quite understood what the fuss is all about, so more for everyone else! :)

You all have just killed my destiny. Stabbed a spear through my heart as if I were a vampire.

I have never tried one but have seen them hyped up on these boards for years now. It was going to be a "must do" on our Oct trip but now, not the dream of finally being handed the most amazing dessert on earth has been wiped off the windshield of my eyes.

Shame on all of you! :-P

I really like them but not nearly as much as the frozen pineapple soft serve with coconut rum added. Had them from Pineapple Promenade at the F & G and from Tamu Tamu refreshments. I couldn't stop eating them!

Now this sounds amazing.

I enjoy the dole whip floats, won't wait in a 30 minute line for one, but they are good.

The orange swirl on the other hand:scared:. I really wanted to enjoy it after all of the hype, but it just reminds me of eating frozen orange juice concentrate out of the can.

Another treat I think is very over hyped is The American Dream at Epcot. After I saw pictures of it and how it was highly recommended I just needed to try it. It actually took a week for me to get it because each time I went to order it, it ice cream machine wasn't working. When I finally tried it, I took one bite and handed it over to DH. It was nasty.

They should have pineapple Dole Whips with rum at F&W while you're there also. And the patio at the Polynesian resort has a drink called the Spikey Pineapple that's pineapple Dole Whip blended with Barbancourt Pango Rhum. I'm planning on one of these now that the orange Dole Whip with pineapple juice float is gone.

I think I like the idea of Dole Whips more than I love the actual Dole Whips, if that makes sense. When I'm in line to get one, I'm all, ":hyper:" and then while I'm actually eating it, I'm like "Hmm... this is okay, I guess". Like, I keep trying to hype myself up before I eat one, but in reality it's just a nice pineapple soft serve that I eat once in a while.
These are my feelings also. But I still have to get a dole whip float every trip. Looking forward to the one with the rum in it. I also never got the hype for LeCelliers. Yes it was good but noisy and the tables were so close together. Don't miss going there now. Not worth signature status.

And those moose things at Le Cellier were way overrated too! All 5 of us ordered it and didnt like it.
And school bread !! Is that still around? I dont hear it mentioned at all anymore.

Dole Whips are one of the few times that the DIS steered me wrong. No one in my family liked it.

My family bought one to share. No one liked it and we ended up throwing it away. It's funny how so many people love them and we couldn't even finish one between the four of us.

They're ok. At least they're a little novel.

I'm more confused when people go crazy for Mickey bars and Disney popcorn. Those to me just seem like ice cream bars and popcorn.

I haven't tried Dole Whip yet, but I agree about the Mickey bars. I constantly see them listed among favorite snacks at WDW and am mystified. I'm pretty sure I've had a Mickey bar before, though not absolutely positive, and I'm pretty sure it was a regular ice cream bar with ears...wasn't it? Ditto for the much-glorified Mickey waffles. Excuse my blasphemy, but IMO putting ears on it doesn't always make it taste better.

Yay! I'm not alone! I have always thought the same way, but I felt like it was blasphemy to say here. Or that maybe I'm not a supertaster and can't tell the difference. Maybe the bars (and popcorn, and yes, the waffles) actually taste different to other people? Don't get me wrong. I like ice cream bars and popcorn and waffles. But I can have those things anytime ...

I don't adore the Dole Whip, but at least it's something you can't get on every street corner in America.

Is it me or are Dole Whips totally over hyped??? Years back I saw the stand at MK for them after reading its praises on the disboards and rushed over to get a few for my husband and I. We were like "it's OK" but I just didn't get the fascination. Maybe if I hadn't eaten in a month, they would of tasted better but they weren't really that fantastic. Did I order the wrong thing?
I've tried them and wasn't that thrilled with it.

I used to LOVE Dole Whips but they changed the recipe a couple years ago and they are not the same.

ETA: We have Dole Whip floats and the used to be refreshing and tart and now they are cloyingly sweet.

I had one on my first visit in 1978. I've never had one since. I don't think I hate them, I'd just rather spend my money elsewhere. If I want something cold, I like water. If I want something fruity, I'd rather have the fruit itself. If I want something sweet, I'm definitely a chocolate guy.

Add me to don't like. I'd rather have so many other snacks at WDW instead.
