Anyone NOT getting ADRS they want?

I am not getting anything, the free dinning plan is really killing me!!!

I am sure it is a great thing for those who have that plan, but for those who paid for it or who are using the plan are getting nothing!!!

YES, it is really affecting my ADR plans this year, especially with the Free Dining Plan. We chose NOT to do the plan, and CANNOT make a ressie or two we had been really looking forward to :( :upsidedow :sad2: !

None of you say when you are going but the free dining period is right around the corner, you can book your dining reservations at 180 days, which is what I did and alot of other people.....so I got everything I wanted. If you wait until a couple of weeks or even a month prior to your trip I doubt you will get anything you want with or without free dining.

there is nothing for Sept
I called to make a ressie for stuff between the 7th and 10th and theres nothing
sad really....

:wizard: We are going right before the free dining starts (Aug. 18-23) and while we did get many of the ADRs we wanted, we were unable to get Chef Mickey's for dinner or O'hana's. Even being flexible about days and times we were told they were completely booked. I can't imagine what it will be like during free dining!:scared1:

i started making our Free DDP ADRs (for a party ranging from 6 to 12 people depending on the days) at 180 days but have tweaked them a dozen or two times w/no problem... i was able to get my choice of WS restaurants for Friday of Labor Day weekend, w/ten people!

no complaints here :)

I think now that Disney has the DDP they need more TS in the parks. The 2 new one in AK is not going to solve the problem,

I called last week and was able to get Ohana for Labor Day weekend with no problem.

how many in your party, They push the grand gathering thing but it is hard it is to make ADRs for 10. We can not pay the high rates they charge for the Grand Gathering Special events

We just planned a last minute September trip, the 7th through the 15th. We just settled on the dates last week and I called and made all our ADRs (for 4) with no problems -

Dinner at Ohana on the 7th
Coral Reef for lunch on the 8th
Raglan Road for dinner on the 9th
Boma for dinner on the 10th
Crystal Palace for breakfast on the 11th
Rainforest Cafe at AK for lunch on the 12th
Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern on the 13th
Breakfast at Kona Cafe on the 14th
Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine on the 15th

All of these were made last week and I was able to get within 10 minutes of the time I wanted for each reservation. Maybe I just got lucky, but I didn't have any trouble at all.

I also didn't have any trouble booking Coronado Springs (which I had heard would be booked duirng the Free Dining offer because the Pepper Market is so good on the dining plan).

I was even able to book the Grand Floridian Pirate Adventure Cruise for Saturday the 8th!

We will be going 9/25-9/30 (during free dining), although are not on the free dining plan. Although this is our 1st family trip and I am clueless, I bought the Disney Guidbook as well as the unofficial guide book - very helpful because it did mention that to get your most wanted dinner ressies you can book 180+ 10 days out for WDW Resort Guests. I know it's a pain to plan so far out, but you can always cancel them if you change your mind.

I booked my "must do" ressies such as Cystal Palace, Chef Mickeys, and California Grill at the 180 day mark.... then I called about 2 weeks ago and booked several other ressies - Kona Cafe & Narcossees, although not as many times were available.

I really wanted O'Hanas and CRT, but they were all booked. Last week CRT opened up for lunch and I booked it, and just yesterday O'hana opened up for an early dinner - AWESOME!! :cool1: All my ressies have been for a party of 5.

So, don't give up out there!! Call once or twice a day to see if there are any openings or cancellations..... be persistent and something may come up!:wizard:

I do no think it has much to do with free dining. In Dec we were not even on the DDP and there was no free dining and I called 2 months in advance and could only get half of the ressie I wanted. For our trip in Sept we are on free dining and I called about 4 months out and got most everything except Lecelier. People who really want ressies call at the 180 day mark and that is what is causing this. Everyone is having to make ADRs sooner in advance, so if you wait till a month before duing anytime of the year you are probably not going to get exactly what you want. This is very sad for people who do not know whats going on and they get to the parks and cannot eat. Some friends of ours were on the DDP and they did not make ADRS and only got one TS when they were there in March.

I'm betting with the changes to the DDP the TS won't be nearly as busy in 2008.

If you can't get dinner reservations, then you'll have to think about doing a late lunch instead.

What are the changes in 08'? Do you know any major ones??

We didn't decide to go to Disney this September 28- Oct 3 until last month, so this whole 180 day thing didn't help us.
When I began planning I found that the only place I really wanted to try for dinner and couldn't get was Le Cellier. It's booked solid and I have called back again about 5 times so far and still no success. However, I did book a lunch there, and the menu is virtually the same.

I was able to book Cali Grill for dinner on 9/28, AP dinner on 9/29, and three lunches: LTT, LeCell, GF Tea for other days on my trip without a problem.

Personally im not one to decide where i want to eat 6 months out! But we only wanted a few ADR's anyway and managed to get pretty much what i wanted.

I know you say you can cancel the ADR's if you dont want them but to keep calling from the UK is not an option for me as its too expensive.

I don't have it, but I know there is a 1-800 number for dining, couldn't you take advantage of that to save $$?? Anyone have the 800 number to share???

I made reservations for the 1st week of December yesterday and a lot of places are already getting booked up. The earliest I could get into Chef Mickeys was 9pm. This could be callanging with a 7 year old but this is the one restaurant he asked to go to. I guess I'll learn from this experience and book at the 180 day mark next time. I also was unable to book at Restaurantosaurus in AK because they tell us they are closing down for good in November.

I found it on this board earlier this week: 1-800-828-0228.

If anyone is cancelling Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner on Sept. 24th, please let me know! Thanks!
