Anyone NOT doing free dining in Aug./Sept.?

I'm not doing free dining because my 40% off code is a better deal for us...I am going during those dates, though, because I had been hoping for free dining! I just got surprised with something better. But free dining would have been better if we were staying value or moderate.

No free dining here. . .dates don't work. But that's okay cause I got such a great rate at the Swan. Can't wait to be there. . .

We decided to stick with the Swan because we got such a great price and getting a good nights sleep is a top priority. I love the heavenly beds. We also decided that because of the heat we won't be as hungry. I made our ADR's for each day and we'll cancel what we don't want... We can eat alot of food with our Swan savings.

We will be at the Swan also, enjoying a beautiful rate! We never do the dining plan anyway - it just seems like a lot of work for us.

But I'm glad the folks who wanted it, are getting it!

We are not booking with free dining as we got the 40% at GF--I have an AP and DDE card so I think we are better off. I am glad fellow dis'ers will be able to get free dining, but I just hope it is not crowded! ~ that's why we are going in Sept and taking our boys out of school.

We're not going during free dining this year because we are actually going on the Disney Wonder for our first cruise ever in November and then to WDW for a few days after to see all the decorations. Never been when they've been decorated for Christmas! So excited!! :goodvibes

We are going from 8/21-8/28. I could change to 8/26-9/1. I just priced it out and its only $50 less than what I am paying for my week. Not worth it to change. I already have my ADR's. If lost of people change to 8/26 maybe it will be lighter earlier in the week :thumbsup2

Staying 9/10 - 9/16, booked it in January along with the cruise to follow right after. Didn't know about the Free Dining in the past years or possibility of this year and really don't care all that much either way. If I get it, bonus, but if not, no big deal, not going to go out of my way to stay at a different resort or change dates.

No 40% and no free dining this year. Free dining was awesome last year, but we will arrive 5 days too late this year. :sad2: We go each year late September to coincide with my kids fall break. DD will be in 2nd grade and DS will be starting Kindergarten, so I would consider moving it a week earlier, but I think the school would give me grief. :guilty:

OP here. Well, I went ahead and moved us up to Sept. 22-29. Work's paying for two nights of my trip since technically I'll be working, and I was able to get all of the ADRs I wanted (Le Cellier, Akershus, Coral Reef, Les Chefs de France, Crystal Palace, 50s Primetime, Ohana, Spoodles and Whispering Canyon). Work will pay for two nights of dinners, too!

We're going to be down there so long that I think we can deal with the crowds by just taking it slow. With a four-year-old, I find that I can't go commando (my dad calls me the Disney Drill Sgt.) like I used to. :scared:
