we are going to whittier soon for a weekend, just wondered if there were any Dis'ers nearby with reccomendations on where to eat, etc? thanks in advance!

Hmm...my mentee in my graduate program lives there, but there really isn't much there at all. I guess you could go over to Cherokee, otherwise I'd head to Dillsboro and check out the Jarrett House if it's still open for the season. If not, there are BBQ and steak places there that are year round.

It is about an hour from me. I have never been there but I will ask around at work tomorrow and see if I can get some recommendations for you. I think my sister had to go out in that area often when she worked up here.

You are going to have a wonderful time there. Make sure to pack a sweatshirt or two.
