Anyone near Raleigh NC?

Hi, I moved to Raleigh NC about two years ago and was curious to see if anyone wanted to do a local meet up. My husband and I went to WDW for our honeymoon last year and I have become a complete Disney addict, he also loves Disney, but not to the level I am at. I feel like I could talk about it all day long if someone wanted to join in on the conversation. Since we are also somewhat new to the area I would love to know about local events like field days, fairs, etc. that go on during the weekend.

A little about us: We are in our upper 20s/low 30s, really relaxed go with the flow kind of people, no kids but 2 cats, originally from upstate NY but got sick of the cold. So if anyone is interested in meeting or chatting please let me know.

I'm in Greensboro but spent 10 years in Raleigh. My best friend still lives there with his family. He is the General Manager of TGIF in Cary, so if you go there to eat, ask for Lalo. Tell him Emily says hi, he'll flip out!

I live right by the airport and pretty much grew up here. I am 44, dh is 34, and I have two kids 7 and 3. It might be fun to have a Dis get together for those in the area.

No I wouldn't say that since when my husband and I got married 10 years ago that term wasn't being used.

Yay, I am so happy to get any responses. Maybe we can be the start of a huge Raleigh NC meet. I was just figuring we could meet at a restaurant unless someone has a more original idea. I have an extremely open schedule so any weekend is fine for me. I'll get everyones info when I am on a computer instead of my phone and we can get this started. Excited to meet some Disney fans!

I posted on that one too! I was going to combine the names on both lists and messgae everyone with some info. Hopefully you will see that soon. I have been too busy at work to get a list together but I will definately have time this weekend.

The August meet is planned for August 7th at 2pm at the Chili's on Glenwood Ave (near Pleasant Valley Rd). If I somehow missed you on the invite list or you are just seeing this post and you'd like to come please let me know and I will add you to the reservation.

Also I will not be able to plan anything for a September meet because I have a trip to NY and Disney. I will plan another one in October though so don't think I left you out next month. As long as people want to come I will keep sending out the invites and you can always check here for updates too.

Used to eat at that TGIF all the time when we lived in Apex. I miss it greatly as the closest one to us stinks!

Hate we are going to miss the meet next weekend but keep us on the list for future ones. We are headed on an ABD Backstage Magic tour next weekend.
