Got a call from someone from Mystic Dunes Resort in Orlando.
We know we would have to sit through a timeshare hard sell.
For $300, they are offering 4 day/3 night stay and "park tickets".
I don't know which "park" or what type of tickets. I told them I would look into it and get back to them.
Anyone sit through one of their time share sales seminar? I want to know if it is worth the time and what EXACTLY is included. I can not find much about the selling tactics, just information about the resort.
Any information is appreciated.

The offer is real. You would have to ask what exactly it is they mean by "park tickets" but typically it's either 2 1-day-1-park tickets or a special promotional ticket WDW sells them that gives you 2 days in the parks (no hopping) and 1 day in either a water park or Disney Quest. They will also offer two of these to you either for free or a cheap price. That ticket has to be used within 7 days of the first use. They do offer many other types of tickets but the ones I mentioned are the most common.

We have never stayed at their resort (or any other resort offering this type of promotion) but we've been to more timeshare presentations than I can remember. I even posted a thread on here somewhere stating how long my last ones took. Since you will already be there expect it to be 2-3 hours or more if they think they can convince you. If you stay firm and tell them no enough times they will give up and you continue on with your vacation, tickets in hand.

Since 3-star hotels are typically going for under $40/day at the moment (and that's being generous) and you haven't stated the size of your party so we don't know if you would need a house you have to decide for yourself if over $90/day is worth it.

You can also tell them you have already booked a hotel but you wouldn't mind seeing the resort then see what kind of incentives they will offer you for the presentation only.

Edit: I looked up that review I did of our last 2 timeshare presentations (and 1 of them was Mystic Dunes), it is here:

Mystic Dunes is very nice stayed there with family of four in Nov of 07 for one week in a two bed lockoff.

Not overly kid friendly but the pool is large and has a waterslide. There are few things on earth that would convince me to sit through a hard sell presentation of any kind. Did it once.

Thank for that information. Since we will be down at WDW at the end of September I was thinking that I would tell them that I already have accommodations but would be interested in touring their resort and see if they would be willing to just give us park tickets and the tickets to the show that they offered.
Two to three hours to us in Orlando is no big deal to us. We have been down so many times now that we like to experience some things in the area other than Disney. I wonder if anyone can use those tickets? For instance could we keep them on hand and let our daughter use them for our next trip in December?
Maybe we will give them a call back and see what they say.

Anyone can use the tickets. We got tickets on our last visit that won't be used until March 2010 by relatives coming over from England.

Interesting update: My husband called back to tell them we would be interested in touring their resort when we go down to Orlando in September but we have accomodations booked at Disney World because we are DVC members.
We thought that maybe we would listen to the timeshare sell and tour the resort and see what they would offer us as an incentive. The woman from the resort said "You have Disney Vacation Club?" My husband said "yes". The woman said "Sorry, we won't bother you again."
What gives?
