Well, it took two and a half weeks, but we finally got moved to Washington State! And, more importantly, got Internet access. The drive up wasn't bad (from Oklahoma) - only took four days of driving and one day off to see Mount Rushmore and Crazy House. The kitties were OK with the car, but by the end they didn't want to get back in their crate. Wedge left some nice claws marks on my back in his attempts to escape.

We found a place to live right away, but our stuff has yet to arrive. It should be delivered tomorrow - I haven't seen any of this since March, so I hope it's all OK! Other than my couches. I really hope the movers broke my couches. :teeth:

I was able to transfer my job at a bookstore to here, so I start work next week - woohoo! DH has one final round of training, then the Air Force is giving him a nice vacation in a desert. He leaves at the end of August for six and a half weeks overseas. So I'll be on the DIS a lot while he's gone!

And that's us for now. I'm just glad to be done with this moving thing for three years. In the last three years, we moved five times, so it'll be nice to be in one place for that long!

I hope you will like it there! It has to beat the red dirt in Oklahoma! For those Okies, I like your state otherwise. There are just alot of dirty cars there.

Glad you made it safely! We are also glad that you will be hanging around the DIS more! :teeth:

Good luck to your husband, and thank him for us for keeping us safe!

Kate, good to see you again! And welcome to the ADAF life!!

Glad to hear things are going smoothly so far. I hope all of your stuff shows up just how you left it (except for the couches of course :teeth: )

I was just thinking about you the other day. I am glad to hear things are getting back to normal (as normal as a military can have anyway!)

Enjoy Washington State; it is beuatiful up there even for the southern girl!

Welcome new neighbor!

What part of the state? (if you don't mind revealing) We've been stationed out of Fairchild for 16 years - love it here! (We're actually about 30 miles from the base though)

Again, WELCOME!

Glad everyone made it safe and sound. Also, from me, thank your husband for doing his job.

Debbie

We're based at Fairchild, too! :wave2: :teeth: I see where you are based on a map - that's 30 miles?? The distances here are messing me up! I'm still trying to find a faster way to work that doesn't involve I-90!

To everyone else - thanks for missing me. ;) And my hubby appreciates the thanks.

Hi, glad to have you back. Sure hope all your things get there ok tomorrow. You really did make a big move.

I missed you! Just wondering if anyone had heard from you yesterday! Are the cats settling? We just got two new pound kitties! Glad to hear all is well!

Michelle

P.S. Mucked up my old password...can I still be a chronie(sp?)? I do still know the password!
