Hello there Oswald..... we are only looking for a studio for our first time to WDW. We figured we probably shouldnt be in our room that much anyway right?
 
I passed ROFR today. This is my first time to own DVC.

Saratoga Springs - 250 points, February use year.

$82 per point.

250 points banked from 2007.
No 2008 points available.
133 2008 points banked into 2009.
226 2009 points available.

Does anyone have an abacus I can borrow to help me use my points for the next two years?

Thanks to all who post on these boards. I am blown away by the information I was able to read on them to help me make my decision to buy and my understanding of how the DVC system works.
 
ROFR'd- 330 BWV points (dec), buyer pays closing and 2008 maintenance, takes the 330 points coming 12/1/08 - $78/point (took three days) :sad1:

Passed ROFR - 230 BCV points (dec), buyer pays closing and 2008 maintenance, takes 61 banked 2007 points and 230 2008 points -$89/point (took 27 days) :rolleyes:

I am renting points (from a friend) for our stay in October from 25-Nov. 1. My friend called to book us in a 2BR. The only thing available was SSR and we are actually on a waiting list for Oct 27 and Oct 30th. I hope it comes through and good luck to you as well.

Update on our purchase at SSR:

Estoppel came back last Tuesday, Title company quickly sent out final docs. Everything on both sides is signed, monies exchanged and now waiting for DVC to get us in the system.
 
We passed thru ROFR yesterday (7/28). Yeah, now onto the lengthy closing process.

Hi,

I think that this is a great time to put a bid on either resort. From what I can tell DVC is letting much more lower bids pass ROFR than from 2 months ago.

Key factors are:
1)Are there banked points? adds value-about $6 to $10 for each banked point. ie. 50 banked points would be about $300 to $500 in value.
2) Are there points used for current or future year? lowers value
3) Who is paying closing cost? You should factor in closing cost into the $/pt since the lower the points the more it adds to $/pt. Closing for 100 pts should be apprx. $450
4)Who is paying maint./taxes? Again at OKW this is about $460 and at SSR it is about $425 for 100 points.

I can let you know my contract at SSR from 2 weeks ago.

220 points March use year @ $73/pt
110 2007 banked points
I had to only pay 2 months of maint/taxes for 2008=$154
I paid all closing=$550

I have seen OKW in the high $60's for similar transactions.

My broker said things are slow and it seems to be true since I have seen some better deals than mine get through and I thought I had no prayer in passing ROFR.

Take into consideration what or what you are not getting with your 100 pts. I think a safe bet is that something in the high 60's or very low 70's will get you into OKW and probably the mid to upper 70's for SSR. Again you should add or subtract depending on +/- on what comes with the points.
