Anyone lost points? Had to send fax?

I didnt have very many points but somehow I lost the ones I had and my last stay was not credited
for points. I called SPG and was told that it
wasn't too late to send a fax and they would do
a research to see what happened. It stated on my
res (2 rooms) that it was a SPG res. I am going to
send my fax today and see what happens. I hope it
can be taken care of before my Sept trip. Is this
something unusual that happens, or could my stay
have been overlooked? I am realy new to the SPG
points system so I guess I need to learn more about
how things work. Anyone had any similar things
happen with your points? Just wondering

That is a common occurance in the hotel business. You should always keep your receipts handy until you see that your miles or points posted to your account. Usually once you provide proof they are put into your account.
