What is going on the week of October 13th - 20th that Disney and Shades has it blackened out??? I know F&W at EPCOT because we are going to it and I know MNSSHP is going on, but what else, to make them block out the discounts??

Not sure of the exact reason, but I can tell you that the middle two weeks of Oct. were blacked out last year as well. I suspect Columbus Day, Canadian Thanksgiving, and school fall breaks are big factors.

I know that week was blacked out last year with a good reason. The Garnter people were there but they will be there the week after that this year. There is no reason for it to be blacked out. I think Disney has it's days mixed up

Been wondering this myself.

this year is the first time our schools are giving kids a "fall break", and of course it's that week!!!

I was hoping to head over for a quick trip, but I now wonder how busy the parks are expected to be?? And I NEVER pay rack rate..............may have to head to a different resort.

Since there seems to be a lot of wondering about Oct 13-20 and Ive been hearing that a lot of schools are on break then.....we upped our vacation a whole month earlier.....
