Anyone know why Whispering Canyon is not serving breakfast after 12/31/16??

There is nothing listed in refurbishments and that is the only sit-down place in WL for breakfast. The CM was no help when I asked why I couldn't book 1/27 for breakfast but can book lunch or dinner. She just said it's not available right now. I had no trouble booking any other ADRs that week, including dinner that evening at 1900 Park Fare.

they sometimes don't load all availability right away. why, i don't know. another quirk of a frustrating system. keep trying.

All personal opinion - I'm not right, no one else is wrong.....

WC cutting breakfast would be economic suicide. My personal bet? The dining system is screwed up at the 180 day mark, yet again. Happens all the time.

Now - it's ALSO possible that a refurb is in the works. It's been a few years for WC. When this occurs, breakfast gets moved to AP. Been done before :). Every few years, the cooking area needs an overhaul just to prevent a serious range hood grease fire :). No, WC isn't "greasy".... EVERY restaurant needs to do this :).

Lunch and Dinner? Lower volume, would give 'em the option of using the AP Kitchen. Again, it's been done before.

Sounds a like WCC may cut breakfast the way Boatwright's and others have over the years. Jan. 1 would be the perfect day to do so, I would think. Only time will tell. We used to go to WCC a lot for breakfast but haven't in several years. Has breakfast decreased in popularity at that location?

Seemed odd that it begins on 1/1 but given it's Disney, one can only speculate. All that money but none of it spent on IT

Ehhhhh - really, if there is a maintenance thing going on? Not odd at all. Big maintenance issues are OFTEN set for January-February. Now we get why this is "value season" :).

Again - I know nothing, just guessing....

Can't think of another Deluxe that doesn't have at least one table service breakfast. It would put a huge burden on Roaring Forks, unless they open a new breakfast at Artist Point. (Any old timers remember the Pocahontas character breakfast?) doing away with breakfast altogether would really surprise me.

I had a Winnie the Pooh breakfast at AP once upon a time while Crystal Palace was closed.

I agree. They need to make sure that there are enough options for breakfast if they want to fill this resort. People book deluxe resorts for many reasons, one being TS meals available three meals a day.

Honestly, given the way character meals book up so quickly a character meal added would not be such a bad thing, especially with all the new DVC units going in.

That was my thought. They are doing so much construction and converting buildings to DVC then not offering a sit-down breakfast? I don't want Roaring Forks in the morning, especially the morning of departure.

Crisis averted - LOL. I just looked and it's now loaded for breakfast. As suspected, their system didn't upload properly.
this has been pretty common lately. When I was booking at 180+10 no Ohana was available and one CM said it was fully booked, another said not loaded. Well like 5 days later it loaded and they had tons of availability for about a week before it was all booked. Not sure why but this seems to happen a bunch.

Worth mentioning.... this state of affairs is very common with WDW....

MANY Disney owned restaurants fail to update their booking data in a timely fashion. When this occurs, you will see "no availability" - because the central system just has no data.

Been going on for years.... I suspect local managers catch HELL for this....

Just made reservations for 11 people on Jan. 31 for breakfast at Whispering Canyon but can't get a brunch for Trail's End Feb. 5. Only showing dinner times right now. Guess I'll keep checking for that one
