Anyone know why Pop is sold out of AAA discount

Helping my sister plan her trip and she is going Aug. 9-20. The AAA rooms are all booked for those dates! Is there something going on that week at either Diseny or Universal that I am not aware of?

Each motel only has a few AAA rooms available. It doesn't mean the hotel is full or anything, they just allow "so many rooms" to get the discount.

I just think it's the usual end-of-summer vacation plans. Maybe your sister could make a AAA reservation at one of the All Stars, then when (and if) the codes come out, try to get a lower rate at Pop for her dates.

Sometimes it only takes one night to not be available and it makes it look like your entire stay is sold out. Maybe if you can find the right CM to work with you, you can check out portions of your timeframe. I know it's a lot of work, but it does work sometimes.

Tried your dates a couple of minutes ago and it was showing the discounted rate, $84. When the Disney resort page comes up, pop won't show up, you have to click on Show More Properties at the bottom of the page.

I'd try again. I got the same answer when I called to reserve POP for three nights in May. In fact, the CM told me that ALL rooms (discount and rack-rate) were sold out at POP for my dates. I thought that was rather strange, so I called back a few hours later, got another CM, who told me that AAA rates were indeed available at POP for the nights I requested. I'm not sure what's going on, but I would try at least a few times with Disney, and also with AAA itself. But when you book with AAA, be sure you know exactly how much the final price is with your discount, because often times, they will quote you a higher price.
