Anyone know why no flash photography inside POTC?

Wheeewwwww... Mike, do you think you might have hit a bit of a nerve, here?;)

I'm sure you didn't mean to bother anybody. And from your subsequent comments about a camera without flash, sounds like you don't intend to do it again.

We DISer's certainly don't have opinions at all, do we? :rotfl2:

If you are serious about getting some inside photos and you still have one of your old film camera's then buy a roll of 400ASA or better film and use the old camera for indoor shots. They will come out great without the use of a flash...

I have to agree with everyone else. Flash is annoying!

There were a couple of people both times we rode POTC...it is incredibly distracting.

I'm pretty sure there is a sign just before you actually board that says no flash photography. It's on the same sign about neck problems my husband ignored! :rotfl:

You can use a digital camera that controls the ISO up(ASA for the film types) and get good pictures if you watch the camera perspective in relation to movement. You can also post process the noise(grain) away to some extent. I would think that most folks never print larger than 5 x 7 prints.

The CM's also say it as you board.

I tried this with my camera but the results weren't as good as the old fashioned film. Most of the photos blurred or as you say came out very grainy. My camera is one I use professionally and had a lot of different low light settings but at the end of the day I think it is just beyond the technology at this stage. I did get some great night shots of DL by steadying the camera on seats, rubbish bins etc

When we were little, my mom told us it was because the flashes would make the pirates come alive:scared1:

To this day, I can not take pictures of POTC.

HAHA! That's almost as bad as my MIL telling DH, when he was little, that all the people eating at the Blue Bayou weren't real. They were just part of the ride. (Guess she didn't want to spend the money eating there!)

I think he thought that until he went with me as an adult! ;)
