anyone know where to get doll clothes?

our auction chair thought it would be a great idea to dress our american girl doll in our school uniform... how hard is that right? I need either a navy blue jumper and white shirt or a navy blue skirt and white shirt and probably a navy blue sweater as well.... I don't sew (and I'm not going to learn at the moment) So, does anyone know where I can get my hands on the above mentioned clothes? (it's an 18 inch doll by the way) thanks, maggie

Target and Walmart both sell dolls very close in size to the American Girl doll. They both sell outfits for these dolls. You might be able to find something there. I would try Target first, they seem to have more of this stuff. If I could remember what the dolls were called I would tell you.... but I cannot remember...sorry............P

rofl patty, actually I went into one but they didn't have any clothes that would work... so I left. I'm now tired of looking online with no luck so maybe tomorrow before driving an hour and a half to a basketball game.... I'll check the leesburg walmart, target and mike's and big lots or tuesday morning... (can't remember which one is up there). maggie

Another idea might be to see if you can round up a mom that DOES sew! The jumper and blouse are readily available through the major pattern companies.

I agree with finding someone to sew the outfit if it is not available online anywhere. Just be aware that everyone will want one when they see how cute it is!

There are people on EBay that make and sell clothes for 18inch dolls all over the place. Try searching 18 in doll jumper.

I did a search on EBay - put in "American Girl Jumper" and

came up with several sellers. Maybe contact one with a really high positive feedback and see if they will make you exactly what you need?

Someone over on the budget board posted a code for American Girls for $10 off an order of $10 or more ---137807---not sure if it is still valid, but if you have to get the sweater from there it might be worth looking into.
