Specifically butterscotch...we are planning to make butterbeer and the recipe suggests putting in a butterscotch stick for garnish...DS is a purist and so I'm on the lookout! I was surprised my local confectionary/ice cream place didn't have it...but they didn't really seem to know what I was talking about either, so I'm thinking of going over to have a look. CVS has all kinds of candy but I struck out there...likewise the grocery store. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

I've seen them at Cracker Barrel

That was what I was going to say. We have one a few blocks away, if you need me to look for them/pick them up, let me know.

The Vermont Country Store

Forget the candy. I want to know more about this butterbeer. What is it and how do you make it or can you buy it? Let's see.....I love beer; I love butterscotch; I love drinking. Too funny this should come up. I don't drink liquor normally, but I actually went into store the other day and asked for butterscotch schnapps (sp?). They didn't know what I was talking about, but it sure did bring back fond memories. Yes I believe I need to know more.

My suggestion was Cracker Barrel as well. You must buy them at the store. I checked, and they CANNOT be ordered online. :-(

Butterbeer is a non-alcoholic drink from the Harry Potter books. You can buy it at the Harry Potter land at Universal. I was told by my niece it is very much like a cream soda with a hint butterscotch. You can find unofficial recipes by doing an internet search.
