Anyone know what "priority entrance" is?

Hi! Just wondering if any of you have received or heard of a priority entrance pass to a themepark. I am not clear what this might be, but here is my story. We went to WDW last year and had purchased 3 annual passes and by accident when we turned in our vouchers, the expiration date on our actual passes was marked one year from the date we purchased the vouchers not one year from the date we activated them. I only discovered this a few months ago, when planning our July trip for this year. Our passes should expire the end of August, but say they expire in June. Well, I wrote a couple of emails and received a phone call. The woman was very nice and understood the mistake and made a note on it, gave me a number to give in at guest services at any of the parks when we arrive and said it will be taken care of. She also was very kind to say we would receive sometning I believe she called priority entrance passes to the park for that day for our inconvenience of having to go to guest services to get it straightened out. This sounds nice, but I was just wondering if anyone here knows what these might entitle us to and how they work. Are they like fast passes for the day or maybe just for one attraction? Just wondering, even if we do not get them, just getting our annual passes straightened out will be great! Thank you so much for any help!! :sunny:

Sounds like a "pass" that you'd use to enter via the Cast Members gate so you would not need to stand in line behind other folks at the ticket readers.

This would not "penalize" you for having to lose time by first having to go to the Guest Services window outside the theme-park.

Just an educated guess.

Oh thanks. I had not thought of that, that makes sense. Thank you for your quick response.

I was going to guess that they were "FastPass-type" tickets, which may allow you to even bypass the FastPass line and get a "priortiy entrance" on to a ride (or two, maybe). Of course, like Robo, my thougt is just an "educated guess."

Thanks RyMickey I thought she might have meant something like a fast pass also because I thought she may have even used those words after she said priority entrance, but since they were complimentary and who knows if we will in fact even get them in July, I did not want to ask any questions. I just said thank you. I never really thought of what Robo said before. That might be what they are. I do not know, just thought I would see if any of you experts had heard of priority entrance passes.

You are all so helpful. Thanks so much for your help!! :)

We had those fast passes on our last trip. My Mom got these when she went for her 3-hour tour of the DVC. They were simply plastic cards that issue immediate fast passes. For instance, if it was 12:00, you put your card into the Fast Pass machine, it spits out a pass good for anytime between 12:00 - 1:00. And you can go right into the fast pass line. Each one of our cards was good for 2 Fast Passes. By the way, if this is what you talking about, they are awesome!

Thanks. To be honest, I really do not have a clue what they are or what I am "talking" about. LOL!! Those passes you are talking about do sound great. If that is what they are that would be a nice treat. :cool1:

I guess I won't know for sure until we get there. Thanks again for your thoughts and taking the time to post. :sunny:

Unfortunately it didn't mean carp for us. After an issue we had in a prior trip we were given 5 priority entrance passes for one day at one park. We decided to use it at MGM to get the best use out of it. Unfortunately we chose MGM as our last day. We got to customer services and picked up our 5 priority entrances.

It wasn't by any means quiet that day, there were crowds everywhere. But because of the day of the week it was and usually a quiet day, they had decided not to open fastpass that day. And even though our passes weren't "fastpasses" we were told because fastpass wasn't open, our priority entrance passes were useless.

We went to the stunt show, getting in line a little later then we normally would if we were just standing in line thinking we were getting in the priority entrance... only to be told our priority entrance tickets were useless and we would have to stand in line like everyone else... this line already being thousands of people long with another 20 minutes before they would even seat people.

We didn't use a single priority entrance pass that day, I actually still have them. And like I said, the lines weren't by any means short but had to stand in them like everyone else because fastpasses weren't running that day.

I hope you have a better experiance with yours!

Melissa: I am so sorry that happened to you. What a shame to not have any chance to use the passes. Thanks for posting, I was hoping someone would know from experience what they might be, I am just sorry your experience was not a good one.

Thanks everyone for your ideas and sharing your experiences with these passes. :)

Well you are going in Summer so i'm sure you wouldn't run into that... i'm sure it will be nothing but very helpful for you guys to get on what you want to get on! Goodluck and have fun.
