Anyone know what happened at Radiator Springs Racers today?

not surprising as I told in an earlier thread. It is likely to shut down on average 15 times a day. I really hope this is just a "new ride let's fix the bugs and kinks out" type thing
I hope so too, but Test Track at WDW is also notorious for going down a lot.

A couple CMs I talked to today said that it seems to be just one of those thing they have to work out. Said that Matterhorn kept going down at first, too, and finally someone realized that it was shutting down when there was an empty car running. That it needed some weight. So now they put an incredibly hi-tech *sandbag* in an empty car (though honestly that sounds dangerous, doesn't it?) to make the car register as "full" for the computer.

Today it went down for at least 15 minutes (I think it was longer but I'm underestimating in an effort to not overestimate) shortly before we got to the loading area at some point roundish 9, and there wasn't a drop of rain at all today (though it had been predicted, I guess).

Hey, sierranevada, I have the same kind of luck! Curse you, Mother Nature, LOL! :rotfl2:
Hope the rest of your trip has been spectacular. :goodvibes

It was!! We finally rode RSR at night and it is absolutely gorgeous! My BFF's hubby was a hardcore muggle - really did not want to come on this trip mainly because he is too busy (Vice Chair of a really large software company). All he remembers of his last time to DL was either standing in lines and being bored. Well - he turned out to be the most enthusiastic of the bunch!! Caught on to the FP system right away - loved the great food and wines and Carthay Circle and Napa Rose Chef's counter and thought the parks were outstanding! Love it when I can convert a muggle!

Just got back, and the whole week I observed the following about the FP's for Radiator Springs Racers.

1. The FP's were pretty much done between 9:15 and 9:30 a.m. everyday.
2. It took on average 30-40 minutes in line just to get a FP.
3. By 8:20 a.m. or anytime after the line was already back to Hyperion Theatre.

The standby waits averaged 110 - 180 minutes depending on the day of the week, and the time of day. Tuesday was the heaviest day even more than the weekend. Twice on two different days, we went through the single rider line in 25 minutes. Hope this helps.

This is just what I saw. We were going to try to ride it before we left on Saturday, but it was still down. Oh well, I am glad we got to ride it a few times.:thumbsup2

Everything dalstitch said - just would add that right now it goes down any where from 4 -8 times a day! So patience is the key until they work out the bugs

it took my son-in-law and grandson 2 hours in line to ride, then dtr was able to get on in 15 minutes in the child rider exchange this morning.
