Anyone know if there's a minimum temp for Blizzard Beach to open?

I'm looking at the weather for our trip, and it looks like temps in the mid 60's (weather.com shows 65-67 as highs). Would Blizzard Beach open in those temps? I remember on our last visit, trying to go at least a couple times when it was closed (even though we called first and they assured us they were open) when I believe the temps were low 60's. My kids would really like to go, but I don't want to plan a day for it, then have it be closed. We'd go on the last day of our trip, before leaving for the airport for a late flight. Our passes include Disney Quest, which we'd do this day if the weather was bad. But we'll squeeze it in another day to leave the day open for BB if it's open, but then don't want to have nothing to do.

Any experience, suggestions, ways to know in advance?

Thanks!

Generally in the 60's they will still be open but that would be on a trial basis, if there are not enough people in the park they will close down (giving you a rain check of course).

You're a brave family. I'm from the Northeast and I couldn't go swimming if it were only in the 60's. Kids are so resilient.

All the water in both water parks is heated to 82 degrees, so as long as you stay in the water, you'll be warm! :earboy2:

We went to TL when the temp was really low (I don't remember how low) in December. The lifeguards had ski jackets and knit hats on, which made us laugh. We were one of maybe 3 families in the park which was great but we stayed only about 2 hours. Once we got out of the water it was very chilly. :cold: :cold: :cold:

We did end up going and it was about 62 degrees. Unfortunately when we headed over it was sunny and quickly clouded up. We hit all the rides/slides once then floated around in (not on) the lazy river, but my kids were really complaining about how cold they were. We took a long break then I really had to convince them to go back in again for a little while. I think if I'd just used a plus, it might have been worth it. But we paid nearly $150 for the 4 of us. I realize we probably did as much as we could have on a hot crowded day, but at least we wouldn't have been freezing. They told us they needed to have 100 people in the park to make it worth opening, and as I looked around there were (surprisingly) about that many people there, but of course zero line anywhere. Point is there are good and bad points to going when it's that cold, but I don't think I'd do it again!

The rule is that water parks and pools can stay open as long as it is above 40 degrees outside with a windchill. It used to be above 50 degrees but there was no windchill factor in the rule.
