Get permanent marker off of a dry erase board? I used the wrong marker and now I've got permanent writing on my erase board. I doubt their is any way to get it off but I thought some of my fellow DISer's possess the knowledge of such things. :teeth:

Of course there's gotta be a way, there's a way to do almost everything. ;) I had no clue, but I did a "google" and found that you're supposed to really go over the area well with a dry erase marker and then rub it off and the permanent should go away with the dry erase marker.

If that doesn't work, I also found the suggestions of hair spray, acetone, or fingernail polish remover.

:)

Yep, what Lynne said, Kyle.
If you accidentally use a PERMANENT marker on the whtiteboard you can remove the stain with hair spray, acetone, or fingernail polish remover; or write over the permanent marker with a dry-erase marker; wipe as usual.

Hey Kyle. Were you doing homework or writing down some girl's phone number?? :p

When all else fails, my Mom uses vinegar on tough stains.

Good luck, Kyle....:D

1st try writing on top of the permanent with a dry erase and then erasing
2nd try using th dry erase/whiteboad cleaning solution
3rd try with AFTA or acetone
4th buy new whiteboard
5th keep permanent markers far away :teeth:

Just say NO to Sharpies!

I've had great success on the overhead projector with rubbing alcohol. :(

I used windex when one of my Brownies did this to my daughters white board! It worked fine. (probably the ammonia) That's been 6 months ago and you can't tell it was ever there.! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Must have been some killer brownies? lol

Just Kidding,
Lisa

Try nail polish remover.

We've done this at work a couple of times.
