Anyone know how to make iced coffee at home?

funny thing is I only like the McD's - I don't like the others and won't waste my money. While I love coffee, I have never liked it cold. There is some sort of Crack in the McD's and it is working on me!

Wow ... it almost sounds like a lot of people never heard of iced coffee till McDonald's started making it! :)

Some of these recipes sound delicious, but IMO aren't iced coffee! Iced coffee is just coffee ... cold!

I don't think that's the case - at least not for me. I don't drink the cold stuff at Starbucks and have only had iced coffee a handful of times, usually at McDonalds since it's cheapest. And knowing it had more than just coffee in it, and I liked it that way, I figured I should learn how to make it at home!

I don't enjoy plain cold coffee on ice at all. I like it either strong, black and hot (that sounds naughty!) or cold and froo froo with flavored stuff in it.

I add creamer and some kind of syrup, Hershey chocolate, Dulce, Special Dark, or a caramel sauce to cooled coffee. I will make a pot and put it in a container in the fridge once it has cooled down.

I make mine the same way I make my coffee.

I brew a cup of chocolate flavored coffee, add 3 splendas and vanilla caramel creamer. Let it cool, refriderate it (best if I make it a day ahead of time to really be cold). Sometimes I serve it over ice and sometimes not, it just depends.
I started doing this when I ran out of time to drink my hot coffee in the a.m. I'd stick it in the fridge and come back to it later. Usually that is the next day since I can't have caffeine after noon.
Call it whatever, I love it! I have one I made this morning ready for tomorrow morning.
I have not had MCD's yet.

From Dunkin Donuts website:
Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee

Make your own delicious Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee! Buy Dunkin' Donuts coffee beans online now and then follow these simple steps:

To brew a full-flavored pot of Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee, double the amount of coffee grinds you would normally brew for hot coffee*. Measure 4 level tablespoons for every 6 oz. of cold spring or filtered water you plan to brew.
After the coffee is done brewing, remove it from the burner and let cool.
Pour the coffee into a temperature safe container, and add ice until the mixture cools and doubles in volume. Keep in mind that the melting ice dilutes the coffee, which is why Iced Coffee is brewed using twice the amount of grinds at hot coffee.
To keep Iced Coffee cold and fresh, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Iced Coffee should be consumed within eight hours after brewing.
Drink as is, or add milk, cream or sugar to sweeten and lighten to taste.
To keep the remaining, unbrewed Dunkin' Donuts Coffee beans or grinds fresh, store in an opaque, airtight container in a cool dry place. Do not store in a refrigerator as grinds and beans absorb moisture and aromas around them.
* Be sure not to over fill your brew basket

I make an extra cup in the morning (6 instead of 4, since those markers are for the tiniest cups!) Stick the pot in the fridge after I have my two cups. By the afternoon, it's nicely chilled. Pour into a tall glass, add ice and flavors and milk. (I have a disturbing amount of flavors in the house.)
