Anyone know how accurte AAA fule cost cal is?

I found this on one of the threds above about driving and was wondering if anyone has used it and compaired to what you actully spent... It's telline my frineds (going on vacation w/ us) that they can get 23 miles to gallon when they figured they would only get 18, that's a big $$ differance when traveling almost 2,000 miles. Thanks

It's close, but driving habits, etc. will affect your calculations.

For example, for my 2002 GMC Sierra, the calculator says $178.00 for a one way trip from Boston to Orlando. I am here now and I was pulling a small trailer and it cost me less than $150.00.

I think that AAA is being slightly conservative.
