I understand there is a lake at VB across the street from the resort. I get the idea that it is catch and release. Can you use your own equipment? Do they have rentals? Anything else there? I think I read someplace about archery? Any information would be appreciated.

Hi, It is catch and release. You can use your own and they do have equipment also. Don't know if it is free or rented though. I have heard about archery, but I have never seen anyone doing it.

Thanks, My DS loves to fish, anywhere, any time! I will have him bring his rod and tackle. Any other information from anyone would be great!

Thanks

Archery is an activity offered for ages 8 and up IIRC. They have a target set up across the road. My DS, who was 10 the last time we were there, participated in it twice during our five night stay. Once, there were only about four kids participating and they got lots of time and individual attention. The 2nd time he went, there were about 20 kids participating and they could only have 1 or 2 turns I believe. The cm who led it last October was great.

My DS loves the VB lake. Last time we were there was June 05 and he fished a couple times a day. Bring bug repellent to wear while you are at the lake, you will need it. There are picnic tables over there too, if yiu wanted to pack a lunch and I think grills too(?):goodvibes

Just FYI, the land across the street, over by the lake, was originally suppose to have DVC Villas there.

The VB project was really cut back due to slow sales. The current VB resort is probably only half of what was originally planned.

BTW, do not walk across the street to get over there. There's a tunnel under the road that you should use.

Lakeside villas would have been really nice. I really enjoy the area over there. It is not used a whole lot and it is a shame.

There is also a horseshoe game set up there. I found out that I can't toss one very far, but DH is good at it!
