I saw an interview with the doctor that created this plan. It sounded quite good & I just ordered the book from Barnes & Noble.com It is a spin off of the Atkins Diet, but sound more healthy to me. It is low carbs & lowfat protein. During the 1st ttwo weeks you cut out the bread, pasta, rice, fruit, etc. You can still eat the veggies that contain carbs! After 2 weeks, you can add back in fruit (i think) and whole grain bread, whole rice, etc. We'll see, i'm excited to get the book - I like to read about different approaches and this one sounds good. I only have 10 pounds to lose - but that is the problem ...I ALWAYS have 10 pounds to lose! :D

I work for a major book chain, and the South Beach Diet book is doing really well so far. I've looked at it, and, as Sposial said, it does seem to be pretty healthy, basicaly using a low-carb Atkins type diet as a base. I'd also be interested in hearing anyone elses' experiences with this diet.

I saw another post on WISH about that diet. I follow the Atkins nutritional plan and it sounded very similar, in fact, it sounded exactly like the Atkins plan.

I've never tried it though, nor read the book.
