I purchased 2 tickets at internet special rates and the rate dropped so I changed my ressies now I have a cr for a $106.00 I called SW and the csr person told me it will be credited on my account but the email confirmation said that it would be for future travel how long is this good for?

It's good for 1 year from the date you purchased your tickets (not 1 year from your travel date). Some people have had luck with getting a refund on their cc by contacting the refund dept but I've tried it 3 times with a credit that will expire in January and I haven't had any luck with it.

When I have had my SW account credited in the past, it has been good for one year.

if you changed the original reservation to take advantage of the lower fare, but booked the same exact flight as was originally booked, you can get that amount credited to your cc. I just did this last week. You would need to call the customer relations dept at the number that begins with 214. The rep had no problem crediting the $56 credit I had back to the cc.. as long as the intinerary had not changed. It was all very easy.

I had a credit that is due to expire June 29 and my sister wanted to use it to fly out on June 30. I called Southwest customer service and explained the situation to them and while they said they can't change the expiration date of the credit, if I went ahead and purchased tickets online with my credit card they would credit my VISA in the amount of the credit I have with them after travel is completed. Does that make sense? :scratchin

So if you have a credit expiring before you can use it you might call them to see if you can work something out.

when I called, they did not say anything about having to wait until after the trip to get the refund so I just called SW after I read your response. The woman I spoke to said it has already been credited to my cc as of yesterday so I'm confused as to why you need to wait until you have taken the trip :confused3

Did you book a different flight # than the one that was originally booked?

Whenever I have a refund due, I just ask and they refund it back to my credit card. I've never had a problem with this. That's one of the reasons why I try to only fly SWA. They are so flyer-friendly!!

She said because is was a non refundable fair and they wanted to guarantee travel... :confused3
