I'm hoping someone on here has got some good ideas because i need some help!

I help in a Girls' Brigade with the girls ages 5-7, this term were going to do alot about birds/ wildlife, do bird watches, make nests, feeders etc. I've got all the stuff were going to do but i'd like some ideas for videos etc they can watch ( since i'll be learning with them at the same time). I've contacted the RSPB but their stuff isn't really aimed at kids and is expensive, but their sending me paper resources, ive got a couple of other ideas ill try tomorrow...but was wondering if any of you brainy people out there have got any??? Thanks!

Well thats what we will be looking at, but maybe british wildlife too. I know the bbc do spring watch and when i go to work tomorrow (in a school) i'll look then, just wondered if anyone knew of anything?

you could try a library, they may have videos that they lend out.

When I was younger I was a member of the RSPB Young Ornithologists Club. I've just had a look on www.rspb.org.uk and if you go on that page, there's a section for kids at bottom right. It seems to have some useful stuff but I don't know if you've already seen it.

There's some DIY guides to birdboxes and feeders on the BBC nature site, and the www.bto.org.uk site, (British Trust for Ornithology), has surveys you may be able to join in.

www.uksafari.com has quite a bit on it, and www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk has loads on. Have fun!!

Sorry no idea about videos but we made a great bird feeder with our Brownies.

We hung a pine cone upside down covered it in pea nut butter & then rolled it in bird seed.

It was messy but the girls loved it.

Of course we'd previously checked that none had a nut allergy.

Be sure to have a plastic bag each for them to take them home.

Hi thanks for your suggestions...im ringing a local place tomorrow to see if we can borrow a video or something. Were making nexts, and feeders etc using yogurt pots and lard and seeds etc...sounds erm very messy and fun!

Thank you for all ur suggestions!!
