Anyone know about Little Ones Magic Hour?

Ok, here is the response that I got back from Disney...

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

Little Ones Travel Time was from August 26 - October 28, 2007. 2008
Dates are not currently available.

Is it me, or is that still very unclear??? So, does that mean that the dates are not available but will be soon? Or does that mean that it's not happening this year? I'm thinking if they can't get the dates together, then it's not happening. I did ask for clarification so we'll see:confused3

What in the?!?!?! That's clearer than mud, that is. In the words of my 3 yo, "That don't make no sense." :rotfl:

Seriously, though, what in the world?? What kind of response is that? I checked their website and searched for the Magical Beginnings probably a few months ago, and all it brought up were those cool kid friendly maps that you can print out. DH and I just figured they stopped the program. When we did this last year, it was really cool. Like others, great character experiences, and we were hoping to enjoy it more this year again with the kids a bit older.

Anyway, thanks OP for keeping us posted!!! Hope they clear up that rather confusing answer for you!! Maybe I'll try too...see if we get the same response, eh?! :thumbsup2

Sound like a plan Tinkmama. Let us know what you find too!

I'm guessing that since they are starting to have MNSSHP in early Sept AND since they have yet to book any of the performers...I would say at this point that it's going to be a no-go :sad2:

they stopped doing the lil ones magic hour, Im not sure why as it was SPECTACULAR for little people..............the special Dan Zanes, Sprites, etc week was totally different, and also SPECTACULAR!:rotfl: we had the pleasure of enjoying them both one year!!:worship:

For those wanting to see the musical acts, they are doing a concert in select cities around the US. We went in Philly and got to see Ralph's World, Choo Choo Soul, Imagination Movers and Dan Zane. It is called Disney Music Block Party Tour. It was a lot of fun. There is a code that I found online for ticketmaster for this event. The code is MUSIC and it gives you $5 off. Check out www.disneymusicblockpartytour.com

As for the magic hour at MK...I hope they bring it back!!! The concerts would be great to have too, but that's not going to happen with the tour going on!!

Oh now you bring up sore subject #2. :sad1:

Many stops were cancelled. We were supposed to go to Hartford on Aug 6th, but it was cancelled. Apparently at some point all remaining shows except Long Island NY were cancelled.

We loved little ones emh. Look at my avatar. That is from the little ones EMH. The girls got to walk, talk and ride with Snow White. It was so cool. I was under the impression they werent doing it this year? We would miss it anyhoo. We are going after free dining!

I have called and emailed 3 times in the past 6 mos and was told they are not doing it this year.I would think if they were ,since we are already in the middle of August that we would have heard the dates by now.I think it probably comes down to cost.Disney is currently cutting out a lot of the entertainment budget and because characters represent a major cost to that budget that is probably one of the reasons it is gone.

Did they tell you why it was cancelled? Now I am bummed we loved it and were so excited about doing it again next year...guess that won't be happening!

Although I will say that the turnout was bad for it. They really didn't advertise it well enough in my mind. I found it by doing a search for Ralph's World in concert. Otherwise I would have never known about it until about a week before when I happened to catch a single commercial one day and I think for most people at that point it would be hard in the summer months to redo things.

It was a great experience though - the performers got down in the dance pit area (which as I said was dead!) and danced with the kids and there was a meet and greet with all of them afterwards. I was really worried because we got there late and thought we would never get a spot up close, but I have to say there was no one really there. It was a Friday and the event was then held on Saturday and Sunday so I just thought people didn't want to take off work for a Friday if they could take their kids on a weekend.

Disney's response to my "please clarify" question...

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

At this time, the dates and times for the event of your inquiry have yet
to be established. Please check back closer to your arrival for updated
information. General information about special events that are
currently available at the Walt Disney World Resort may be obtained from
our Web site:

Er, my arrival is exactly 44 days away! Guess it's not going to happen. Still no straight "NO" but I'm reading between the lines here. I guess we'll just have to settle for everything else Disney has to offer:lmao:

subscribing - I want to take DGD if it is going o be held. We will be there 9-4 through 9-8.

I e-mailed them a few months ago about it and got a staight out "not offered this year" type of response. Not, to be announced, like you got. I would love for them to have it again! Does the right hand not know what the left hand is doing?

Great, I've got my hopes up now.

Ok, folks, I went a step further than asking the folks at Disney, since I kept receiving the same "No dates set yet" response, and asked the folks on the DIS Unplugged Podcast. (I'm one of those people who believe that these guys and girl know what's what in the world of Disney.) I was told that Disney is not offering it this year, and that it was listed on the DIS that it was cancelled for 2008. Still can't find anything on the actual Disney website, but since everything that's been posted on here has always been true for me, I'm accepting it.

Like everyone else, I'm pretty upset that this has been cancelled; it was such a great experience for everyone in my family. Maybe one day we'll find out why. :lmao:

Have a great night!
