I know again, I am spoiled because we get to go to WDW next Christmas. We have vouchers for the airfare because of a huge problem with the airlines and the way DS was handled (Wheelchair etc). I have been watching airfare so we can use the vouchers (they are for $250). I have been checking hotel prices etc. I sat down and figured out which hotel , dining plan or no dining plan, DE or no DE, ME or no ME, Happy Limo vs. Tiffany TC, rental car from MCO or Hotel, AP or no Ap, which restaurants, etc. I thought it was all done. Last night DH says, "I know we figured out POR with dining was the way to go but I really want to say at DOLPHIN." I just stared at him.
He was supposed to go to the airport on Thurs but figured out it was very close to the beginning of the school break so he decided to wait until today figruing it would not be as crowded. Well the airfares have gone up . He thinks they are going to come down. I am ready to scream!!! He is now at the airport, he calls and says we can leave from another airport (it will take us 1 hour to get there) . Ummmmm we will need 2 cars, we will need to leave 2 cars at the airport. The $ we will be paying will probably be close to the cost of the ticket increase!!! We also won't get in until after midnight on Christmas Eve in Buffalo NY...snow capital of the NE. Do we want to chance this? Well, if it is snowing we can get a hotel room. Christmas Eve?!?!?!?! I don't think so.
He also wanted me to give him the phone # for Delta so he can call to see other flights. Hello, you are at the ariport. You just told me there are no lines at the Delta window why is the customer service person not helping you out with this. He said the lady wasn't helpful, she didnt offer to make the call or to check other flights. WHAT!!!! Did you even ask? Did she say she wouldnt check other flughts? Did you tell her you were interested in other flights? No, I didnt, She told me I could call the 1-800 #. Ok so you call but can she give you the #? Ummm I didn't ask for it I figured I would call you to get it from the website!!! WHAT!! I gave him pages and pages of flights from the web when he left this morning he asked for them, I looked them up, he took them with him..I don't know what is going on. DH usually is not this ..how do I phrase this....DUMB!!! I swear someone stole the real DH and left this person in his place. He is usually a very intellegent person. Who took my DH and who is this imposter!!!
I have had it. I don't even want to go anymore. I just want to crawl in bed and hide until this is over!!! Has anyone else ever felt like this. I know I should be thrilled that we have this opportunity but I am just so overwelmed. I know it is so petty to be overwelmed making vacation plans while others are overwelmed with their health and other important issues. I just can't help this. I just want to stay home and hide. I better snap out of this pretty quick.

Well, I'm usually planning trips even when there isn't one on the horizon!! (I plan imaginary trips when I need a lift!!!)

But I know what you mean. If I were you, I would just take matters into my own hands and do what you know needs to be done. Your husband sounds like he is one of those obsessing types and needs to be put out of his misery!!!

I agree and I am sure that no jury in the world would convict me if they saw the paperwork, the phone calls, the time....just to hear, "I know but I think I would like the Dolphin". Case closed!!!!!!

Seriously, would he be very upset if you just took charge? Maybe he'd be secretly relieved. He's probably just stressing himself out and would be happy for you to plan a great trip.

As an avid airfare watcher I would wait. The prices on airfares do go up and down sometimes by the hour.
In my opinion I would wait for lower fares for the airpaort closes too you. Even if another airport is cheaper you have to use valuable vacation time to travel to the other airport. I see you are in NY and NY is notorious for unpredictable winter weather so even if you are traveling 1 hour to get to a cheaper airport what will the weather be like on the day you have to travel to said airport? That one hour could turn out to be a 2 hours or more to drive plus you have to be at the airport 2 hours before your flight time.

Plus if the weather is bad the day you travel to the cheaper airport that means you increase the travel time to that airport and you increase your risk of wrecking your car to save money. Or if you don't wreck you will be a nervous wreck praying and hoping you arrive safely.

Stick to your home airport!
I just planned a Florida trip 60 days from my travel date and I too had a travel vouchure and I watched the flights from my home airport till the price was right. I booked 30 day before leaving! Got the price I was hoping for.

Don't let him stress you! Or you will not enjoy yourself. ME is the way we went. It was free, I dropped my luggage at Cleveland Hopkins and never saw it again until we got to our room. Then on the way home they came got it from our room and we never saw it again till we got back to Cleveland. It was well worth it! We did not have to tip the person who brought it to our room because we never saw him/her but we did tip the person who picked it up. So we spent $15.00 to get too and from the airport and had someone handle our luggage. What a huge savings! plus someone else safely got us too and from the airport.
