Just wondering if anyone just got back today. If so how were the seas? I know it's been pretty windy over on the east coast which can make the seas rough. Hoping it calms down a bit. We leave Sunday.

We just got back on Sunday from DCL Wonder. Yes, the winds were a little strong. We had some rough swells and some rocking of the boat. I still don't have my sea legs yet. But don't worry it wasn't REALLY bad. Castaway Cay was colder then normal because of the winds and clouds. DH & DS went Parasailing and DH became a "hero" :cheer2: although he doesn't like being called a hero, says he didn't do anything that someone else wouldn't of done.. anyway Have a Wonderful Time!!!!! Enjoy!!!!!

o.K., you opened the can of worms. What happened?

What do you mean that he became a hero?

Thanks for reporting back.
Now what did the hero do????????

My DH and DS went Parasailing on Cast Away and the winds were on again off again. So they went first and it was ok, then the crew on the excursion said due to winds they won't be able to make anymore trips, then minutes later they moved the excursion to another location. Then the next 3 groups of people went. Well while the 3rd group A Dad and his Son(9) while Mom and their daughter (still waiting for their turn)were in the air when the winds picked up. They were stuck in the air about 1,000 feet up..ALL the rope was released, oil leaking from the boat, trying to fight the currents and these two were actually dragging the boat backwards. Well my DH jumped into the water and grabbed the ropes and helped get the two down.Mean while other excursion boats near by with men on them sat there and watched while noone tried to help. Anyway, so Hubby helped rescue them..Turns out the gentleman stuck in the air was a Bridge Officer of DCL Wonder... :earseek: and on his first parasailing excursion...They were so appreciative that the family came to our room with a model of the Wonder and thanked my hubby again.. This is A trip I am sure NOONE will forget... :boat:

Thank God your husband helped! He really is a superman;)

I believe that your family was there for a reason.

wow! thats an unbelievable story. What a great example your husband showed to your ds. Its wonderful he got involved and was able to help. You must be soooo proud

Thank You soooooo much for ALL your nice comments.. Yes, my hubby said he didn't think about it, he just did it...

Aww! That is awesome Stacy!! Congrats to your hubby. I know most people would do it but he did it! I would have been scared to death if it were me stuck up there.
This happened on Fort Myers Beach and the people ended up dying because the rope finally snapped after beingstuck so long. It was a mother & daughter.

Wow! What a great story! I loved reading it and all the other follow-up posts too!

I've got a quick question for you, but I don't if you'll be able to answer it. Rumour is...they are starting the Pirates night on the Wonder in "early 2005." Did you get a Pirates night or hear anything about it?

Thanks!

I would also like to know if they had pirates night yet on the Wonder.

no I have never even heard of pirates night..what is it??

Wow, that was true heroism. Glad your DH thought quickly and responded. I think b/c of the leaking oil, maybe the other boats couldn't get close. But yes, some staff member should've responded!

I've never been parasailing, so I don't know that much about it or how they got "stuck" in the air, but it sounds pretty scary!
Good for your DH for being a gentleman and not just standing there and watching!

So, do we need to start a new thread for January cruisers asking for Pirate info?

pirate: pirate: pirate:
:boat: :boat: :boat:
