Just wondering if any has been to the CR recently. We haven't made up our minds whether to stay at CR or Dolphin.

We stayed at CR 2 yrs ago. We loved it. Any particular questions?

The CR & Dolphin are at opposit ends of the park. I'd say, look at where you are going to be spending most of your time. If MK, then stay at CR, if Epcot/MGM/Water Parks, then the Dolphin would be closer.

A friend stayed at the Dolphin & loved it.

Price is the key. I rec'd prices at the deluxe resorts. We are a family of five therefore, I need the larger room with the daybed. My kids are DS14, DD12, and DS6. We stayed at the CR years ago and thought the older ones would enjoy it more. DH wants the Epcot area.
Price wise Dolphin has a great rate, but I think the room will be tight w/5. All other properties are starting at 300/nt.
I did not book in time to rec'd a good rate. Planning on be there 8/19 - 8/23.
How's the pool at CR?

I'm also looking at CR for our next trip. To those of you who have stayed here, did you have a tower room? How good are the Magic Kingdom views, and do you think CR was worth the money?

The rooms at the CR are amoung the largest at Disney. We stayed in a garden wing. Our room faced MK & we could see the fireworks from our window. It was also very quiet.

The room had 2 queens, a couch, a chair w/ stool (LR type, not kitchen). I think there was also a desk type chair. The bathroom had a pretty big sink area, lot of room for bathroom junk. Plus, the toilet was in a seperate room. Nice, so one could go potty or change clothes while someone else used the sink. No balconies, but a huge window that could be opened.

It had 2 pools. While we were there, the large one was closed. Our dd was only 2.5, so it didn't matter to us. The other pool was busy, but didn't seem to crowded.

There is a huge video game room in CR. Real nice for teens. Plus, CR has a marina, so you can rent the boats. If your family really likes the boats, you can buy a lenght of stay package for $200 that will give you unlimited access to them.

We were there in mid-August when the parks were crowded. The hotel never seem crowded, though.

HTH's,

Kimberle~ I am surprised that your room didn't have a daybed. I thought all rooms at CR had the daybed. My price quote was for a Gardenview room. We stayed there many years ago and I was pregnant with my 3rd at the time. We did not need the extra bed then.
I really liked the CR 5 years ago. I did not mind being in the tower, thought it might be noisy with the monorail. Thanks

It had a long couch. Isn't that basically the same as a daybed? It was pretty comfortable for reading.

I don't know if it open up into a bed, I never looked. We had 2 queens for the 3 of us.

Yes, the couch is the daybed. My DS 14 liikes to sleep in that. The queen beds are nice, doubles are a bit small now the kids are getting older. We will probably be in 2 rooms real soon.

We were just there in May. I have never found the tower loud. I love the convenience of being an elevator ride away from the monorail.

We used the big pool and DS loved the slide.

And the MK view is...well, MAGICAL! Especially on fireworks nights. Also great for watching the water parade.
