Anyone interested in splitting the cost?

We are thinking about buying a small minifrig or 2 at Target for 75.00 dollars each. We are staying 9 nights and have 2 rooms. We definately need a Frig because of my baby formula. If we buy the 2 minifrig's it will still be less expensive than renting one from the resort.

2 Frig from resort for 9 night= 180.00
2 75.00 Frig from Target=150.00

We are hoping that someone else would like to split the cost and they can KEEP the frig's. We don't plan on taking them home with us because we are flying.

Our check out date is 06/05/04 and we are staying POFQ if anyone is interested. All you would have to do is pay up front and pick up the Frig or Frig's on our last day. I will give you all of our information so you can trust us.

If you'll have time, you could always try selling them on your last day. . .just find someone checking in.

Good luck. Splitting the cost sounds like a good idea to me.

Check with the resort before you buy the fridge. I think I remember something about the resort providing the fridge if there is a medical need. I am not sure if storing formula or breastmilk is considered a medical need or not, but is worth a try. KQ

Why do you need 2? If you want to split the cost for two, that would be the same price as just buying one. Would you buy it once you get there? Maybe you could sell it to someone coming in for cheap. Anyway, storing breastmilk seems like it could be medicallynecessary. I'm sure they'd just let you use one, they have them just sitting there anyway, it won't hurt them any. You could also buy one of those coolers that plugs in. You could use it for your trip there for drinks and stuff and then plug it in in the room for breast milk, etc. :earsboy:

Another thought, why not just buy powdered formula and bottled water? You can mix it up as you need it and forget about paying all that money for a fridge. And do you HAVE to have one in BOTH rooms? THat just doesn't make sense to me.

I just read that you are flying, so I guess the plug in cooler thing wouldn't work too well, but you could buy one when you get here and then just sell it when you leave, I'm sure you could get one for about $50 and sell it quick for $20, making it only $30 for the 9 days= much cheaper than renting or buying a fridge.::yes::

That is not the only reason we want to get a frig but that is the main reason.

My mom and sister will be in the other room and they would like a frig as well... That is the reason for two. If we didn't have the baby's formula to worry about we could put all of our drinks in 2 frig.

I will look into the cooler idea! As for powered formula I am going to give it a try but it tends to give my baby a lot more gas... and I would rather be inconvienced and have a happy baby!

I wonder how much trouble the local stores (Target, Wal-Mart, etc.) have with folks buying minifridges and returning them a week later. Unless they have some policy against accepting those returns, I suspect it happens a lot.

Why not stock up on premade formula before you go? Seems to me that that would be cheaper.

If you are using premade formula, then buy the smaller cans. Then all you will have to keep cold is a small amount for a small time. My experience is that a cooler filled with ice will do the same thing. That is what we use and we even keep milk in it over night. The ice is free at all resorts. I just go top off the cooler while the rest of the family is getting ready and it is good all day since it won't be out in the sun. This would be a whole lot less expensive and a lot less aggravation.

We are checking IN to ASMovies on 6/5! I'd love to have a fridge, but don't want to pay so much to the hotel. I may be willing to split the cost of one fridge, but I can't imagine needing two (or hauling 2 back to Indiana).

Let me know what you decide to do...

I have always been able to get a fridge for free because either I was breastfeeding, had a kid on antibiotics or my husband was along and he's diabetic.

Just mention that you need a fridge for medical reasons when you make you ressie and just double check it when you confirm the ressie or check in.

I wouldn't buy a fridge- just try one fridge in one room and then if you reaaly feel like getting a second fridge, just maybe get an extra one for a few nights at $10/nite or use a soft sided cooler w/ ice for non-perishable litems like water and pop.

Have you considered buying one of those 5 day coolers instead? I have seen them at WalMart. They are a silver-gray color. They can hold ice and food items for almost a week! They run about $20.00. That might be something you could sell (a little easier) on your last day to someone else that is checking in. It might be big enough that you only need one to hold your cool items for both rooms, if you are lucky.

See if you can find one before you leave home just to get an idea of its size.
