I am suppose to be visiting my parents in fairfield county , connecticut tomorrow and I am concerned that I might have to cancel. I was suppose to take Amtrak from Philly tonight, but it seems like they are suppose to get TONS of snow tomorrow. The weather channel is of no help....anyone live there and can tell me a current prediction????:Pinkbounc

I live in Westchester County, NY, but work in Stamford, CT. Nothing yet (7:20 am) but we keep hearing snow/sleet throughout the day, snow overnight into Saturday accumulations up to 12" north and west of NYC.

I live in central CT and all the local stations are saying between 6 and 12 inches depending on the track of the storm. Looks like my area will be getting at least 8 inches of the white stuff if the storm continues the way it is going now. We are getting our snowblower ready. Not really looking forward to this but, tis the season. My office Christmas party is scheduled for tomorrow night, but looks like that will be put on hold. Also, I had plans to do lots of shopping in the early morning, but that too will have to wait.

To show all warnings for your area:

http://iwin.nws.noaa.gov/iwin/CT/allwarnings.html

If you want another state, simply substitute your state's abbreviation in place of the CT above. I had this on ALL warnings, but plugged in PA and CT to find out what's happening locally.

For airport information, I rely on this:

http://www.fly.faa.gov/flyfaa/usmap.jsp

Click on the button of your nearest airport and you'll get lots of info regarding weather conditions and delays.

Y'all stay safe over there. :earseek: It's gonna be a WOWSER! :earseek:

I live in Wallingford . . .its about 20 - 25 minutes North of New Haven.

This morning they were saying the snow isn't going to start until sometime around the 5:00 pm commute . . .but we should only see a dusting by 7pm tonight . . .But the snow will continue to fall through the day and night on Saturday ending sometime Sunday mid-morning . . .with a total accumulation anywhere between 8 - 12 inches statewide . . .

I'm in Stamford/Norwalk.

They are calling for 4-8" on Sat. Suppost to start after 4 pm (lightly) with the heavier stuff after mid-night.

Are they right on the coast? There is always a big difference between the coast & further north (a/k/a Danbury area).

If you can, I'd try & get here as soon as you can. You should be fine arriving tonight.

Or cource, the forcasts have been all over the board. This one's been very unpredictable.

Hagred, thank you for posting that link. Very informative!

I live in Trumbull-mid fairfield county, "north of the parkway". The most dreaded words in this area for weather reports are "north of the parkway". If you live north of the parkway, weather is always a lot worse. It's like the parkway is some big dividing line.

Anyhow last I heard it was supposed to start snowing/yuckiness this afternoon, continue into the night, and end early tomorrow morning with potential accumulations of 6"-12", depending on location. The further north you go, the more accumulation. The closer to the shoreline you are, the less accumulation.
