Wondering how the crowds are this week, if things have settled down or not..and if the fireworks are going on as scheduled. Oh yeah! And how's the weather? :wave2:

We were there yesterday and it was chilly and then it got kinda warm and then chilly again. The fireworks did happen last night. The fire marshall was walking around though. I am thinking that Mother Nature is the one who controls if the fireworks are gonna happen or not. :earboy2:

I made the mistake of leaving the park then trying to re-enter before the fireworks show the last time we were there. We ended up having to watch it from the holding area outside the park. This time around, I'm not leaving until the show is over!
How were the crowds when you were there?

The crowds were not bad at all. The longest we waited was about 30 minutes but we were in line waiting to buy something at one of the smaller shops. We waited about 20 minutes for Space Mountain the second time we rode it later in the evening. We had the best time at Disneyland. California Adventure was so dead around 3 pm when we were there. We rode Mullholland Madness 3 times in a row. We did all of California Adventure in about 2 hours. We then went back to Disneyland got on a couple of rides and then waited for the parade to start. We found a good spot over by It's A small world. I watched the lil show they do every 15 minutes at It's A Small World. It is so pretty. There were alot of people there with strollers and it was a lil hard to move around at times. I am so glad that my child hasn't needed a stroller in 8 years. Some of the parents were looking really frustrated but that was mainly because all the stroller toting people were in Fantasyland. HEE HEE. It was a school day so not alot of older kids were there. The food lines were great better than what they are during the summer time. ALL in all it was a very wonderful experience to be there during the holiday season.

The fire marshall will let off a balloon to see how the winds are at high altuitudes. That is what determines if the fireworks will go on. Some times the winds are blowing at our level but calm up higher and some times they are calm at our level but blowing higher.

I was there on Sunday and the crowds weren't bad at all. I even checked the bulletin board that has all the approximate wait times for the rides and everything was 15-30 minutes for the wait time. The crowds have definitely died down a bit since summer.

While I am glad that the 50th anniversary has been so successful for Disney, I really wasn't looking forward to huge crowds. I'm so excited! We leave for Yosemite tomorrow, and arrive in Disneyland on Monday! :Pinkbounc

And before I forget...THANK YOU to all who post on this MB. We were in Disneyland last year, and I really wish I had this information that I do this time around. :wave2:

Can someone who's at DL right now grab a DL and CA park map/brochure for me??? I'm going in March & would love to have maps ahead of time. PM me if you've got them.

TIA!!

I went on Monday and it was fine. Not many people at all after 5pm (especially in California Adventure side). Most of the rides were about 5 minutes waiting time. I'll go tomorrow as well. :flower:

I'm planning to go to DL with my boyfriend this Saturday. I want to get there bright and early as well. According to the DL website, the candlight ceremony won't begin00 until 5:30pm. The crowds shouldn't be a problem in the morning right? I haven't been to the park on a Saturday in a long time. I usually go on a weekday or Sunday.

*On a happier note I managed to get us lunch reservations at Blue Bayou! Woohoo! :sunny:

We were there today! :cool1:

The weather was okay. We wore jeans and long sleeved t-shirts and sweaters.
We took the sweaters on and off throughout the day. Was chilly at 730.

The crowds- the CM on the Riverboat estimated about 30,000 people at DL today. So was busy! But not like the 70,000 you can get in the summer!
Our longest wait was 25 minutes for Autopia at 10am.
Everything else was 5-10 minutes.

The fireworks went on tonight. I suspected they might not, because it seemed windy to me, but they did! They are AMAZING!!

Albertan Mom,
So very glad you are having a great time so far! And what a great way to end the night....the awesome fireworks :flower: Keep us posted on the rest of your vacation. Have a wonderful time :sunny:
