Anyone in December getting FP+ and MB

I made my FP+ selections this morning! No MB options yet, though. I'm at 52 days so hopefully this will open up soon as well.

I know this might be repetitive, but do you HAVE to do Online Check-in in order to get the MagicBands to show up?

My trip is Dec 13-16, but since it is booked in my friend's sister's name, so I have no way to do Online Check-in unless they want to... and at 57 days left, they aren't very interested in it in the moment.

So the "Modify the Check-In or Reservation" forcing the issue isn't going to work for me.

FP+ selections apparently opened up last night for us, but so far, no MagicBands.

I noticed people asking this before, but unless I missed something, I haven't seen a reply yet.

People have reported being able to customize magic bands WITHOUT doing the online check in. However, it appears if the system responsible for the magic bands doesn't have your address, then online check in is a way to enter the address so the magic bands system knows where to ship them. There might be other ways to get your address into the system but I don't know of any and since I was able to do online check in, I didn't explore any other options.

It seems to boil down to multiple systems not talking to one another.

I'm wondering too...I was able to make F! and Illuminations FP+ for 12/4 & 12/5 but nothing for MK all week.

On-line check-in was extended to 60 days out.

Thanks. I saw that. And PP was correct! Once I did the online check in, I was able to customize my MB's!!!! SOOOOO EXCITED!!! :-D

I am 48 days out and still can't customize MB. I thought I read somewhere here on the boards that you did not have to do on-line check-in in order to customize bands? I haven't done on-line check in because I called to add my room requests to my reservation. Can somebody please set me straight as to if I have to do on-line check in to customize???? Thanks!!!

I think you do. Once I did the check in, I was able to. It also allowed me to make room requests. I requested ground floor near transportation at POP.

Hooray!! All Magic Bands have been customized for December!! We can't do FP+ yest because we have the military salute tickets, so we will have to wait until we trade our vouchers in. Hopefully the kids can get some rides once tickets are linked.

You can link the green vouchers and make FP+ selections with them. Either scan the barcode on the back or enter the number under the barcode.

They were the old tyveck ones.

I tried to go into the special Be Our Guest site to do a lunch fast pass but I got a message for each date that there were none available. I assume they haven't been loaded yet.

My MB customization only showed up after I did online check in (I hadn't bothered with it prior). I'm thinking this is a way to prevent ghost reservations (can you even cancel after checking in online?). I could be wrong, but it seems like a good preventative measure.

Update: I have been informed that this does not affect cancelling a ressie

I did the online check in on mydisneyreservation.com a week ago and when I go in to MDE it does not show anything about checking in. If someone could explain step by step what I have to do and also where I need to go when it is time for the magic bands I would appreciate it.. Thanks!

I just talked with a Disney Rep because our trip to WDW is Dec 14 through 20th and she told me that we will get an email inviting us to try the magic band. I guess the testing period is over Nov.30th but they are expanding the trial period until end of Dec. She told me that once we get the email and accept it,then we can customize our bands. She said it should be within the next few days. Just thought I would pass that info I was told today on. Maybe it will help!

Any making fp+ able to link new, plastic, tickets from UT? Trying to decide if I should buy from them for our Jan. Trip. It would save us about $55. but I heard you can't link them to MDE.

Don't know if anyone else answered but yes I linked my tickets from UT and had no problems getting FP+.

What reservation # did you use? I used my package confirmation # but it doesn't like that number.

Do not use your Disney hotel confirmation number in MDE under your "My Reservation" tab. Instead, open up the tab "Personalize MagicBands." You will then see a 12 digit number. Use that number. It worked for me, but as others have said nothing is available yet. Will keep checking.

This has been something CMs have been saying for months now but many DISers have realized that there is no need to wait for the invite. If you go in and either check in or modify your check in, you can then start customizing your bands. All stays for December opened last night.

Update...

Today I checked MDE & my Magic Bands are there & ready to be customized!!! I was also able to make my fast past plus choices!

Completing the on-line check-in process has no impact on your ability to cancel a reservation.
