We're at DW now and are supposed to fly out tomorrow (Wed) night at 8pm to Boston. jet Blue is offering cancellations at no charge for flights today thru Thursday. Not sure what to do. Afraid if I don't change now & we get cancelled we could be stuck here awhile. Definitely don't want to leave today so I would probably switch to Thurs but that could be cancelled too. Anyone have any updates on how bad the storm is going to be and when it's going to hit Boston?

As an ex-Bostonian, I read Boston.com daily and check the news channels for video periodically. They seem to be saying the following (pulled from Boston.com)....

"The precipitation starts Wednesday afternoon and continues into early Thursday morning. The heaviest of the rain and snow will be falling Wednesday evening and the commute home could be in some snow for those of you traveling westward. Winds will be strongest on Wednesday night with gusts taking down some limbs and causing a few scattered power outages

Thursday is wet to start and cloudy to finish. I expect any snow to have turned to rain by then and if you had some accumulation in spots, it will be melting quickly away."

It doesn't sound like too bad a storm, but Wed. afternoon/evening is definitely messy.

I am in Boston and just watched the weather. At about 3pm tomorrow it is supposed to start with rain. Winds up to 35 at night and possibly a dusting to an inch over night into Thursday morning.
Since you are from this area you know how quickly this could change. This is for Boston, inland can get a few more inches.

Hope this helps and good luck with your decision.

I've been closely watching all the weather forecasts as I'm supposed to fly to WDW Thursday at 5:15p out of PVD. That said, if you decide to cancel, I think you'll be ok to fly in Thursday afternoon. The strongest winds and rain are forecast for Wednesday evening through the night. Sorry I'm not more help!!

In Boston (actually north of Boston) and flying out of Logan at 9am tomorrow. I think we will be fine to get out in the morning but I think it might be a bit messy as the day progresses.

I think people are spooked after last week and are being cautious. We are pretty used to Nor'easter's and this looks like a typical one. Really the concern is the coastlines that have already been damaged a week ago.

Good luck getting home tomorrow, let's hope for no problems or cancellations!

From Boston here, I would definitely postpone till Thursday. It's all about the winds tomorrow afternoon and night around here. I imagine your flight will be cancelled anyway. Any update, did you make a change yet this morning? Thursday should be fine to come home.

I haven't changed anything yet, still not sure what to do. Thinking I may just change to the same flight Thurs night if I can, although I hate for the kids to miss another day of school. No need to rush home on Thursday AM though if I have to pay for the hotel & they'll still miss school anyways that day.

I hate to cancel & then have the flight not be cancelled but don't want to go to the airport & get cancelled there either. Can you tell I'm confused?

The problem you will run into is if seats will be available, other people may have changed.

Have you checked any updates with Jetblue? I would do that first thing this morning, then base your decision on what they say...

Good luck!

Well, I cancelled yesterday afternoon & the earliest flight they could get us on was for Saturday. As it turns out my flight wasn't cancelled, just delayed. Oh well, just have to enjoy my 3 extra days at Disney!
