anyone home school?

Hi, i have a question for anyone that home schools.
To make a long story short, my little sister will be 18 in two weeks, and she is moving out of my moms house. becuase of difficult family life, she was put in alternative high school, but was going to be able to graduate and do the outher things with her class.
I have been working hard trying to make sure she stays in school, and graduates. but are looking into the option of me homeschooling her, while she lives with me this year, so she can graduate.
I am having a hard time finding info out about what needs to be done, to see if this is something viable for her.
I would appreciate any help you guys can give.
the state we live in is arkansas , if that helps.

check the about.com site and put in arkansas homeschool or google homeschool law arkansas and you should be able to find information. Since she is 18, you may not get much help from the school district since you may not have to report to them over the age of 16. Otherwise, you may look into having her continue at the alternative school so she can get a diploma. You also have the option of a GED or if she has a good GPA and reasonable score on the ACT or SAT, you may be able to enroll her in community college. Good luck, you're a good sister helping her out. Remember though, ultimately it depends how motivated your sister is and whether or not she values education in order for it all to work.

I do not know if this is coming too late for you to see but you can also check out www.hslda.org . They are a law group for homeschoolers.

The site includes (among other things):

state laws
interpretation of those laws
lists of local support groups in your area
case archieves of families that have had incounters with officials
auction area for homeschool curriculm

It is a huge site.
