Anyone here of Swedish ancestory?

I could really use a hand with planning my Swedish Christmas.

Do you have any special traditions that you use during December?

What foods do you eat during the holidays (besides Lutefisk ) ?

Anything else you can add would be MUCH appreciated~!

I'm 1/4 Swedish. The only Swedish thing we do with the holidays is swedish meatballs, glogg, and my either Grandmother or one of my Aunts has Jul skinka (ham) on Christmas Eve with cabbage and some sort of almond porridge that I can never remember the name of.

DW is but we're just "Americans". No special food or anything because of ancestory.

A lot of Swedes around here, but I am not. Lefse is popular at Christmas time.

I am 1/2 Swedish. On Christmes Eve we have Swedish meatballs, Korv ( a mild sausage made with potatoes) and Limpa -A Swedish rye that I make myself.

The most basic thing in Scandinavian food is the color. It should be white or pale. If it's not white, put some cream sauce on it to cover it up! Seriously, we used to have Swedish Meatballs, potato sausage, lutefisk (an acquired taste) rice pudding, and rosettes.
For my Norwegian husband I make lefse during the holiday season.

I have Swedish ancestry on my mother's side, but I don't recall anything from that. However, my son has been living in Sweden for about eight years and I do have a Swedish grandson. I can't tell you much about the food for Christmas except that they do not call their meatballs "Swedish," but just meatballs (that happen to be made in Sweden).

I do know that decorating is, for the most part, done indoors with very little outdoors on the houses. My daughter-in-law was here for Christmas one year and was squealing over all the lights and decorations on the houses. Also, the term used for "Merry Christmas" is "God Jul" (good yule).
