Bike tire repair? Anyone here now? (End of April, beginning of May)

Yes! Here now!
Je suis ici!

Unfortunately my Huffy Mountain Creek mountain bike with 26” wheels has a flat front (thinking I might have punctured it when I rode on the side of a path!)… pumped the tire up but flat again!
..lol, that was the first time I’ve probably pumped up a bike tire in 50 years!

And I don’t how where to go to get it fixed

(Riding the internal bus is okay but sooooo time consuming !!!)

Any suggestions?

There is a bike shop across I4 in celebration that does repairs. I know about them becuz they rent bikes by the week too. I looked into that.

Evolve Bikes.

https://www.evolvebikes.com/

Call them and ask for help/advice. You can also ask the CM at the FW lobby if they know of a place.

PS - they do pick up/deliveries of rental bikes to Disney property. Maybe you can rent one while they take yours in to repair? See the "Rentals/Disney Area" section of their website.

PPS - I think there is an air hose at the Bike Barn that they use on their daily bike rentals (no keeping overnight, must pick up after they open and return it b4 closing time each day). Maybe they would let you use it on your bike if you are over that way with it again in the future.

The A team! Loved how they could build exactly what they needed out of whatever room they were holed up in! McGyver is a copy cat of them!

Glad you got your bike tire fixed. So jealous that you are there and I am not. My daughters and I went in mid May a few years ago and almost melted with the heat and humidity. That being said, spring here in New Brunswick is unpredictable at best, I might welcome some heat and humidity!

By "here", do you mean at the Fort or online?

Planning another trip? I'd love to meet up again, but we are going to DLP next year. How's your French? :)

I think there are a few at the Fort right now or just were.

Just for your consideration, our province of New Brunswick is the only official bilingual province in Canada. My French is pas mal. If you need an interpreter, I may be available. Prices are negotiable!

This is a very popular location in Celebration because “Publix Grocery “
I hear lots of different foreign languages as I grocery shop !
Not only can you shop for groceries and bicycles but a new golf cart sales center just opened.
I want Santa to bring me that red one this Xmas Haha

I did not know I can rent bikes at this location Thanks! I

One of my project managers is from Ottawa and is bi-lingual. She has made the same offer. :)

I had 2 years of French in school, but I can't understand anything but single words and I, maybe, have a 10 word vocabulary. Thankfully English is common and if you make an effort in French, the locals will take pity.

I've found a simple "Bon jour. Comment allez vous?" goes a long way.

Several (well, a bunch) of years ago I was departing a Canadian airport (although it was in Quebec) and as the controller told me to switch frequencies I gave him a cheerful, "Au revoir. Merci beaucoup!" and he pepped up in his voice with a cheerful good bye message to me as well... was fun :D

My favorite French greeting/salutation is:

"A bien tot". Which translates to "see you soon".

We <people in the conversation> may not EVER meet again. But there should be hope that if we do, we will be familiar with each other.

So <it tells me>that there is ALWAYS hope of seeing one another again/soon/some day.

And I am good with that.

Thanks for that point, @4077. We've been to France many times and when I/we try to speak french, I think they take pity on us and respond in some kind of english.

Ed

PS - I hope me and DW get back to our favorite Parisian hotel before we pass by this world. My comment is not related to bike tires but I have respect for our OP.

lol…. I’ll see your “My French is pas mal. If you need an interpreter, I may be available. Prices are negotiable”.
And meet it with “My french is tres bien …mind now, I sell bridges as a sideline!….. also known as thbest house guest as I travel with own mini bed/linens, always jump in with chores inside or out, and eat practically anything except lobster, tuna, octopus & strawb.shortcake… and Don’t snore (much)”

(FYI @Teamubr !)

Will be at the Fort again for Halloween & first half of Nov 2025 with my sister.
We’ll rent a golf cart for part of trip, but interesting to hear weekly bike rentals nearby.. might look into that!

As an FYI, the Bike Barn sometimes carries tubes in various sizes and will sell you one if available. We learned this a couple of years ago when hubby's back tire went flat. He had a bigger issue and we ended up buying him a new bike, but it was good to know that the Bike Barn had them.
