...tomorrow morning for WDW out of the NYC area (specifically Newark)??? My DS and his GF are, and we were wondering if it would be worth it to change the flight to an earlier one. Also, are the arilines waiving the fee to do so?? HELP!!!

If the flight is early you should be ok but I think they are rolling the dice. Call the airline and see if you can go standby today?

...I just texted my DS's GF to tell her to keep trying to call Continental to see if they can change their flight....I think the forecast for this area is 2-3 in of snow between 2-6AM...their flight leaves at 7:15AM...

Oh forget about Continental helping them!!! My sister and her family have flights out of Newark tomorrow to New Orleans. All last night we tried to get them on flights today, but they were told by Continental that because they paid lowers prices months ago, there tickets do not equal the prices that Cont. can get now. So they have to wait till there flights get cancelled to rebook, and hope they can get out the next day.

Yes there are certain airlines that are waiving the fees to switch your flights... the earlier the better... We are supposed to get a whopper.

Oh forget about Continental helping them!!! My sister and her family have flights out of Newark tomorrow to New Orleans. All last night we tried to get them on flights today, but they were told by Continental that because they paid lowers prices months ago, there tickets do not equal the prices that Cont. can get now. So they have to wait till there flights get cancelled to rebook, and hope they can get out the next day.

Hi, I just spoke with a really nice lady at SWA. Nothing can be done for me YET,because the weather delay for BWI is only till Thursday afternoon. She told me to call back in case the status changes,but they are not many options for flights to put us on.(we are a party of 4) Of course that could change too!! Wish I could leave TODAY and avoid the whole snow MESS!! Joan

BWI is supposed to get slammed again. They just opened their second main runway last night and it will probably close again tonight into tomorrow. I would avoid BWI. We landed in BWI last night and sat on the tarmac for an hour waiting for a gate. They are soooooo backed up there it's not even funny. Thy are already cancelling flights today due to snow

Well they cancelled my sisters flight, and even though there are available flights on Thurs. because of the price she paid, she cannot get out till Saturday night!!! There goes Mardi gra!!!! I live in Buffalo, and if I need to get to New Jersey fast, the airline from here to Newark is Continental, so I am stuck. But I will tell you, after this situation with my sister, I will not fly Continental any place else.

I KNOW!! This is why I am sitting here and WORRYING!! My DH does not understand at all he just keeps saying "I am sure by Friday morning we will be able to fly into BWI" BWI has already cancelled most flights from Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday!! What are the chances they will be able to clean up another foot of snow on Thursday?? Thanks for understanding Joan

~ UPDATE ~
....my DS's friend took him to EWR yesterday, around 4PM, while his GF's parents drove HER. They were scheduled to be on 'Stand-By', but wound up getting a flight to Charlotte, NC at 9PM last night. Flt was only delayed around 20 minutes, so it went off without a hitch (VERY bumpy landing - fog and wind conditions in NC). They stayed overnight at the nearby Red Roof Inn and arrived again at the airport around 5:30 for their 7:30 flight, arriving at MCO around 9:20 this morning. They arrived at ASSp around 40 minutes ago, but it was WA-A-A-AY overbooked, so they got bumped up to CS, at no extra charge!! They JUST checked in AND their room is ready!

...yes, they were ALL cancelled....also, most flights out of LGA were cancelled, but some were still leaving as of 8AM this morning...

We had to cancel our trip to WDW tomorrow because our SWA flight out of DTW was cancelled and they couldn't get us on another plane until Sunday! The said the planes were packed to the gills because of all the storms and the Daytona 500 on Sunday.

We got a total refund to our credit card.
