Anyone here have/had gestational diabetes? UPDATE post #23

I have 5 kids and I was diagnosed with GD while pregnant with my 2.5yo and 4mo. My son weighed 12 lbs 7 oz and my dd weighed 10 lbs 9 oz. Ouch. lol

I enrolled in a diabetes education class and was carefully monitored by specialists at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk for both pregnancies. I recall learning that those diagnosed with GD 25% will continue to have adult diabetes post pregnancy. It is vital to make a permanent change namely with diet and exercise.

I still monitor myself and get checked frequently for other health issues.

Thank you for all of your replies! I have been watching my diet pretty well - but I am sure there will be adjustments if I do have GD. I will find out in a week, on the 21st when I have my test.

Well - I had my test yesterday for gestational diabetes... and I don't have it! :goodvibes
They said anything under 140 is good and I was at 113! One less thing to worry about!!!

Thank you all for the good wishes!
