anyone here do WW without meetings or online?

Do you live close by to DISNEY or are you on vacation?
I LOVE the Sci-Fi, especially the Rueben and the Onion Rings.
How do you calculate the walking to be 1 point? I always use 30 minutes of moderate exercise as 2 points but I think I may have made that up. :confused3
Anyway- You will do better today- nobody is perfect.

I'm in Central Florida. Dh and I dropped off ds13 at school, and did all the "baby" stuff with our 2 year old, that the older one won't be bothered with.

I'm doing the online WW and there is an activity tracker. I had to input my stride length, initially, and just type in how many steps I took. It calculates how many points it is worth. We walked instead of taking the tram and were only there a few hours. I was disappointed it only counted as 1 point.

UUGH!! Weekends are so hard!! I woke up this morning to my DDH making pancakes and we have a birthday party this afternoon:worried: This dieting is so hard:worried:

I am planning to stick to the plan and hopefully there will be healthy snacks at the party:idea:

natenapril:wizard: some pixie dust to give you strength for the rest of the weekend.
I have done great since weigh-in on Thursday- all flex points are still in tact at this point. We just went to McDonalds after DS's soccer game- and I ate 1/2 pack of a kids fry (3points) and nothing else. That was pretty good for me because I love MCDs fries. But it taught me a lesson- that is a tiny amount of food for 3 points!

I just got my weight ticker- hooray- my current BMI is in the normal range. Even though I am 9 pounds down- I can't see it or feel it at all. It has only been 3 weeks- I am hoping I really notice a difference in my clothes soon. I am a little worried because it is always the same with me - the first 10 pounds are so easy- and the rest is an uphill battle.

Everybody have a great night!

It IS hard. :headache: But I know you can do it - make choices and always choose moderation! If you really want that pancake then have it - BUT - make sure you make it "fit" within your food "budget". :goodvibes

I have spent a bit of time this weekend with an interesting choice of reading material. I pulled out my book called "The Complete Book of Food Counts". It's 800+ pages of nutritional data for any and every type of food you can imagine from Abalone to Zucchini. Have a craving for a Burger King Double Whopper with Cheese? It'll *cost* you 1010 calories, 67 g of fat and 3 g fiber. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: My slide rule just about had a meltdown trying to calculate that one!!!! (in case you were wondering....it's somewhere in the area of 24 points.)

Thanks for the support! I was able to avoid the cake:cool1:

I really dislike BK but 24 pts for a dbl whopper:sad2: Just another reason to stay away!

I finally made it to the 10 lb. mark! I have now officially lost 10.5 llbs. I feel like I have made it past a barrier that was really holding me back. I can't wait to see what lies ahead.

Awesome job! I made it to my 10 lb. mark today as well! It is exciting isn't it. After the last 2 weeks of .50 each this past week I lost 3 lbs. I've been working out w/weights so we'll see - I may be gaining or holding my own the next few weeks but then hopefully I'll continue to lose as I burn more fat. Good luck everyone and onward and downward!!!!!

Great job!

I had a good weekend- I yesterday I used 9 flex points- I still have 24 left. I went grocery shopping and I am well prepared for a good week.

DH and I are thinking of a quick 3 night trip to WDW in May (no kids) and we may get the dining plan. I really want to be close to my goal by then. It is a nice motivation.

Well, guess what girls, I made it to the 10lb. mark today too! LOL CONGRATULATIONS LADIES!!!! :thumbsup2  :thumbsup2

I'm excited but it has been a rough week for me, which is why you haven't seen me around. I don't know if I had food poisening or the flu but let me tell you I was SICK! I couldn't keep anything down for 2 days straight, the first day not even water or medicine would stay put. I lost 6lbs. overnight and then 2 more the next day. It was odd to see the scales go down so quickly but it was also scary. As my appetite has started coming back though so have the pounds. I gained all of them back except for two.

So I have a 2lb. loss bringing me to 10lbs. total now and I am now 228lbs. It feels so good to be back in the 220's again. I haven't been there in a really long time. :cheer2:

I'm still not feeling 100% so I'm trying to eat kind of light today. I'll probably use all of my points just not eating anything really heavy.

Welcome to our new people! Everyone is doing really great! :thumbsup2

Have a great day everyone! :hippie:

Sorry to hear you've been so sick. Theres a lot of germs going around. Congrats on reaching your 10 lb goal - heres hoping it comes off a little more pleasantly! Take care!

:yay: :woohoo: WOW! Everyone is doing so GREAT!! :woohoo: :yay:

I was supposed to have my big weigh in and measurements done tomorrow...decided to do it today instead. I lost another 3 pounds and 1.5% off my body fat. :dance3:

Nice work everyone! Now....to go make my plan of attack for Valentines Day...:rolleyes1

Princess Michelle~
I had the stomach virus right before Christmas! It was the most horrible case that I have ever had! I, too, could keep nothing down for the first 24 hours...my poor DS4 got it first. It was sooooo sad to see him that sick...but at least we were sick together. We couldn't even keep ice chips down. DS was soooooooo thirsty and begging for something to drink the entire time. DH got it last, and his wasn't as bad! We all finally recovered 2 days before our trip to WDW! We were still icky when we got there but at least we didn't eat ourselves silly when we arrived!

Hope no one else in your family gets it!

CONGRATS on the weight loss!!!

There are a few things that really helped me. First, I eat ALL DAY long. Really, I do. I eat 6 times a day - basically 3 meals and 3 snacks. I don't know how many points you aim for daily, but I use 27 as my target. I don't *bank* any flex points for the week - I divide them into daily points, and add in *activity* points (I do some kind of exercise 5-6 days a week) My philosophy on that is two-fold. First, if I don't eat enough points each day I get extremely fatigued (not to mention the fact that not enough calories and your body will slow your metabolism down to protect from starvation.....talk about counter productive!! :sad2: ) and secondly, I never, ever feel good if I over-indulge on a huge meal....so 27 is my daily target. I divide my 27 by 3 to get 9 points per 1/3 of my day. So between breakfast and a.m. snack I eat 9 points. Lunch + afternoon snack, 9 more points. Dinner and evening snack, my final 9 points.

Each meal and at least 2 of my 3 snacks have a serving of low-fat protein. (Egg whites, lean meats, cottage cheese, yogurt)...roughly 12-15 grams, and some type of carb. This way, my blood sugar levels stay at a constant all day long and I rarely get cravings for fatty or sugary foods any more. I've worked with the nutritionist at my gym on this, and have successfully lost 45 pound on WW this way. (bad news was, I let my guard down and ever so slowly re-gained almost 10 pounds....now I'm taking that back off the same way ;) )

Oh - and fat. Don't become too "fat phobic". I found that I was eating too "lean" at one point, and my body responded by holding onto the excess fat that I was trying to eliminate. :headache: Again...the human body is so darned stubborn.

Anyway...that's what works for me. Sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to find what's right for you!

I'm doing ww on line. I really like it- especially this time of year. I just don't want to go out after I get home....
I started on December 30th and I have been using my elliptical machine 7 days a week since January 13th. It's become part of my morning routine. I have lost almost 10 pounds, so I'm not setting any records, but that's okay. I really feel physically better than I have in a really long time.

Thanks AKASnowWhite. It's hard to give up the food I love and not see results. I am trying your ides this week. I started this morning. :thumbsup2
How much excercise do you fit in a day?

How much excercise do you fit in a day?

I go to the gym most every morning (Never on Sunday - always give myself the day off for rest & recovery! ;) ) - and depending on my schedule I spend anywhere from 45-90 minutes there. I am a cardio addict, which isn't always a good thing! I've really started to do a lot more strength training lately and that's when my body fat percentage started to drop. On my long days I do 45-60 minutes worth of weights, then finish with 20-25 minutes of cardio and a nice stretch....shorter days typically are mostly cardio. BUT...I should probably add here, that I am VERY social and if I didn't TALK so much I could get my workouts completed much more efficiantly!!!!

I vary my routine daily so that I don't get bored AND my body doesn't get used to the workout. Variety and strength training are huge for me. When DH & I trained for and ran the Disney marathon, I did not lose a single pound. Even with all that running! With an event like that you are training for the endurance and it's actually a GOOD thing that your body acclimates to the exercise :goodvibes but because it took so much time, I never did anything else. No strength training, no other variety of cardio. So now I switch it up all the time so that my body never knows what to expect!

Again - that's what works for me! :confused3 (and my trainer is sitting quietly in the corner whispering "I TOLD you so....")

Good job with the weight loss everyone. I can now also join the 10 lb. club. It was WI day here again.

I lost 1 more lb. for a total of 10.5. Not too bad considering we went out to dinner with friends on Friday night (Italian) and on to the comedy club (2 margaritas).

I also don't always use all of my daily points and almost never delve into the 35 bonus points (except for last Friday).

Somehow I don't think I am starving myself either. I hate to eat at night before I go to bed just because I have points left over.

I still need to get motivated to get on the treadmill.

We leave 1 week from today for a short trip to DL and I sure don't want to gain while I am there. We haven't made any reservations so hopefully I can just be a good girl when I order because I can't really pre-plan.
