Anyone hear of any hurricaine rebuilding reports from Key West?

We're celebrating our 40th birthdays there next month, so I need to start planning! Has anyone here been there recently? What is the state of things?

My marathon training coaches have a home in the keys....nothing but cleanup efforts took place last year. Everything is fine. Key West has it down.

My mom went on a house hunting trip their recently--again, she enjoyed her time---no issues whatsoever with "rebuild". It has been a while since they have been hit by something major and though katrina went through them--she was low category....and did nothing but make a mess that was cleaned up without too much trouble.

I've not been there personally--simply observations as told through friends and family.
