Hi Guys,

I dont post here very often (only when I need help :o) but I am planning my annual state-side trip and have hit a road block on linking the Orbitz hotel booking I made over a month ago to the My Disney Experience page.
Every time I enter the confirmation code on MDE it tells me the booking can't be found and to enter the hotel name, arrival date and phone number for the booking, which I entered as per my booking and it still can't find my reservation. Has anyone else had a similar problem lately? I don't know if it would make any difference that I live in Australia but i have tried several different ways they could have listed my phone number without luck :worried:
Previously orbitz have given me a 6 character upper case code. This time they have given me a 10 character code that is upper case and lower case letters. Does anyone know if this has changed recently? I was there in Oct last year and it was still only 6 characters then??? I've contact orbitz but they just tell me to keep trying the code i have. I would prefer not to have to call Disney from Australia as it can be very costly if I am on hold for a while :scared:
I appreciate any insight you can give me :worship:

You probably don't have the Disney confirmation code. Call orbitz again and ask for the number related to Disney booking number not orbitz. I would keep calling until I get someone who gives me a different reservation code.

I just had to do this today and as suggested above I did have to call twice to get an agent who understood what I was asking for and gave me the right code. The Disney code should start with a 4.

Katmu is correct the Disney confirmation code starts with a 4 and is 12 digits. Orbitz should be able to provide but you can also get the number from Disney Central Reservations by calling.

I am having this same issue with an Orbitz reservation I booked this morning. I have used Orbitz many times with no issues linking the reservation to MDE. The last time I used it was in Feb. 2016 and they gave me a 6 character confirmation number. This time I received the 10 character confirmation and it is not working in MDE so far.

I'm going to wait a few hours and try it again. It's annoying to have to call to get the code when they have always worked in the past!

I ran into this issue last fall. I just called Disney and they were able to give me their reservation code. Quick and easy.

I had this issue with Cheaptickets and when I called the agent had no idea what I was talking about. I waited a day and called Disney and they provided me with the correct number right away.

I e-mailed Orbitz yesterday and I received a reply this morning stating they called the resort, but Disney said they needed to wait 24 hours to release the confirmation number (it's already been 24 hours so I don't know exactly what time they called).

So I tried calling Disney for the number just a few minutes ago and the CM would not give the number. She said Orbitz had to call and get it.

I'm having the same problem...really would rather not wait on hold to speak with disney rep, but may have to. Booked thru Orbitz before and never had this problem.

EDITED: Just called Orbitz...took 5 min to resolve.

I had this exact issue yesterday. I ended up calling Disney (no hold time). I had a very nice CM that linked the reservation for me, and provided the 12 digit code in case I had any problems in the future with it. I called about an hour after I booked on Orbitz and everything was there.

If you have any problems with Disney, I would try again with another CM, they have the information. It is frustrating Orbitz just doesn't provide it at the start.

Reminder to make sure and update your address for the magic bands once everything is in MDE. It defaults to some Orbitz address.

Orbitz was bought by Expedia in September 2015. After that, they no longer gave out the 6 digit number that worked in MDX (they shouldn't have had one on a reservation in 2016). Now, the only thing that works is to get the 12 digit number from Disney that starts with a 4. You can get it from Orbitz or you can get it by calling Disney (assuming you get a phone agent who knows what you are talking about).

I must have bad luck with customer service compared to others on this thread!

After the Disney CM wouldn't give me the number, I e-mailed Orbitz. I received a reply the next day in somewhat broken English that I translated to mean they called Disney but Disney did not give them the number and told them to wait 24 hours after the reservation was made to get the #. It had already been 24 hours since I made my reservation, so I told them this in my reply and asked them to call again. I still haven't received a response back.

So I called Orbitz today, and the girl had no idea what I was talking about. She tried giving me the Orbitz confirmation and re-sent my confirmation e-mail. I had to explain to her about 6x I needed the DISNEY confirmation. So she finally called them, and after 20 mins I still don't have my number. The hotel told her they couldn't find my reservation and that sometimes it takes 72 hours to load into their system. The Orbitz rep told me to call the hotel tomorrow to confirm they have my reservation then call Orbitz back if they couldn't give me my confirmation.

Wish me luck that I get a helpful CM tomorrow!! ugh..

Today's update:

Called Disney and got a very nice CM that tried looking up my reservation but it is still not in their system after 72 hours. She told me to wait another day or two and call back.

I'm starting to get worried that the reservation will never get to their system! Has anyone had this long of a wait for their reservation to load?

I would be concerned after 72 hours as well. Mine was in Disney's system within a couple hours, just for reference. I hope you can get everything resolved!!

I called Disney back a few minutes ago (b/c I'm impatient) and the CM found the reservation!! This time she asked me for the Orbitz itinerary number along with my other information, so not sure if that helped her locate it or if it really was just delayed getting into the system.

I called Orbitz and the rep had no idea what I was talking about and kept giving me the Orbitz number. So I emailed and after not getting an answer for a few hours I called again that night. The guy who answered that time was awesome and put me on hold, called Disney, and got it for me. It worked perfectly. The next day I got the email answer with the same number. I was just impatient. I think it's just luck of the draw on who you get. It's unfortunate that they don't just throw it on the email itinerary. It wastes their phone reps' time.

Glad it worked!! I would have been impatient too. I had less than a week until my fastpass+ day (rebooking a better deal from an original Priceline booking), so I needed it all resolved as soon as possible. :)
