My DD and her cousin have both had Nintendo DS's for a couple years. It's so funny when they get together because they will sit next to each other and play Animal Crossing on their DS for hours. For Christmas they both got Animal Crossing for the Wii along with the Wii Speak. We finally got it set up, and they are sitting in the basement talking to each other. I'm not sure what else she's going to use it for, but this is pretty cool.

We had to succumb... Disneym2m and I were on the telephone playing last night, since neither of us had it. I was the first to get to Target..... Even by using the telephone and putting it on speaker, we had an absolute blast!!!!

My new cherry orchard and her new peaches are doing great. I even put some of my designs in her Able Sister's shop. We did some "inter town" commerce!

Are you playing, too Madi? If so we should exchange codes and do the Wii Speak!

No, I'm not, but I think I might try it. I'm just afraid I'll really like it. Is it possible to talk and not be in the same town? DD was playing with her cousin for over an hour. I have no idea what the game is really about, but it looks like fun.

My DW bought it for us for Hannukah. We haven't plugged it in yet, but I can't wait to try it! I still have yet to play our Animal Crossing game either! :confused3

You have to be in a town together in order to use it in the game. You have to have the Wii Connect/gate feature in use and someone else has to be connected to you, in order for it to work inside the game. But.......

My husband says that you can talk on just the Wii system - without being in any game. Apparently there are long-distance families who are buying it for that purpose. I can get more from him about that. They are also coming out with a Wii Speak channel soon (if not already). I am assuming that it is for folks to do that, but don't completely know.

You should play. Disneym2m and I were using mine last night. Even though she didn't have one, she could hear me clear as day through her TV - she just couldn't respond unless she typed. (I still called her.:rotfl: )

Oh wow! That's so neat! So, my brother has a Wii and lives in Minnesota (I'm in California). Would he and I be able to chat through the WiiSpeak, even if we're not in a game?

OK. It's been a while since I've seen the commercial. But, I thought in the commercial that two girls were playing Animal Crossing, and they weren't playing together. I just wondered if you have to. I will try it out. How do I find you as a friend?

To answer Iggy - that's what they say you can do!

To answer Madi - I'll PM you with my info and email. That way we can try it out! Remember - I'm in California, so my Nooks stays open much later!!!!:lmao:

Yes. There is the Wii Speak channel. We found that site before we found the chat on Animal Crossing. We haven't used that, though. We've only chatted in Animal Crossing.
