 My wife and I will be spending our 20th wedding anniversary in disney world, the same place we spent our honeymoon ! Anyone have some ideas on things to do to make it that much more memorable? Thanks for the ideas.

I always tell of this one thing we did to make it memorable and lasting. We went to a pick-a-pearlplace; DH picked the pearl (oyster) and I picked the setting. I wear it with my wedding ring, like an engagement ring. When we were married, an engagement ring wasn't in the cards (mostly finances). Also, I've got a June birthday, so it's extra-nice. They give you the ring in a pouch-you can't wear it for 24hours, which was when DH "presented" it to me.

I've been searching for the same information, we're going in Nov to celebrate our 20th!

There's Giftsofalifetime, Peggy's baskets, Disney florist, etc. I'm planning on bringing things to decorate our room. I have a picture frame that I've decorated Disney and I'm going to put our wedding picture in it.

I've got special meals planned.

You can also order cakes (check out the restaurant board) and have a Diver hold up a sign @ Coral Reef & get personalized menus there.

Get anniversary buttons. Tell the resort and when you make & check in for your ADR's that it's your 20th.

I hope this gives you some ideas. Happy Anniversary!

My family has always gone to Disney World for my parents anniversary... and I'm always looking for new ways to celebrate.

Some of the things we have done in the past:
- anniversary buttons (as some one else already suggested)
- the Bride and Groom hats with the date of their anniversary
- we got shirts made that had their wedding pic on it.. all the CMs wished them a happy anniversary!

I think one of the best things that I did with my sister was go to Town Hall in MK and talk with the CMs, we told them it was their anniversary (a big one-25!) and asked if they had any ideas.. they were able to get our family special seats for the Spectromagic parade! It was awesome!

The CMs are great and if you ask they will try to make it a magical day to remember!

you could have something delivered to your hotel room as a surprise.. there are some beautiful gifts at www.disneyflorist.com :lovestruc

or a wishes/illuminations boat cruise? :)

ps - happy anniversary!! :lovestruc

Thanks for all the suggestions on making a Anniversary special. We will be in Disney the 1st week of Dec. celebrating our 40th. We are already getting special menus at Coral Reef in Epcot.

Great ideas, we are planning our next trip in a few months for our 10th. What Disney rest. would you recommend for that special night?

We are in the same position. 10 year anniversary. Decided, "Hey, how about WDW!"

Problem for us is... our anniversary is in 6 weeks so the 120 day mark for ADRs is long gone. We have been calling and calling and calling to get in at CRT. So far, no luck.

Many of the tips here are nice. Thanks everyone.

One tip I would like to add that I have discovered over the last few days planning our last-minute memorable anniversary trip: I am trying REALLY hard not to make it about whether we get to do all the special stuff and get excited about the things we ARE able to do. (But would still LOVE to get in to CRT!!! :rotfl: )

Hope your plans for your anniversary trip pull together nicely.

O M G ! ! ! All I can say is, if there is a reservation you really want - keep calling! I just got dinner at Cinderella's Round Table! :dance3: :yay: :cool1:

I cannot epress how excited I am! I thought for sure that there would be no chance at getting this reservation once we found out they were completely booked every night we are to be at WDW. We have been calling 2-4x / day to check for any openings and today - magic! :wizard: there was ONE opening while I was on the phone with reservations!

I am so excited! We are going to be eating dinner in Cinderella's Castle!

Dreams DO come true (even for the adults)! YAY! :yay:

Do a fireworks cruise. We did the Grand 1 for our wedding, I can't imagine there being anything better!! I've heard the Illuminations cruises are just as good.

Great thread with some fantastic ideas! It's our 25th wedding anniversary in just over 6 weeks. We will be on the Disney Cruise and on the actual day, we are docked at Castaway Cay and have Palo's booked for the evening. We have also got a reservation to eat at the California Grill at 8pm (when Wishes is at 9pm) on the night before our cruise.

I love the idea of making a t shirt up and bringing some things to decorate our room - so you've got me thinking . . . . . . . .

We are going in 4 weeks to celebrate our 1-year anniversary!!!! We stayed at BCV for our honeymoon and this year, we are trying CSR. We are planning on Jiko for our actual anniversary.... also think I'm going to order a cake at 1900 Park Fare to surprise my DH. For our honeymoon, I had the personalized menus and diver at Coral Reef..... my DH was very surprised!!!! He thought when he saw the diver coming up to us, that he was trying to tell us that he needed oxygen! LOL LOL! I also ordered a basket from disneyflorist.com but was kinda disappointed because I had wanted it delivered to our room as another surprise but it never came and we ended up having to pick it up at the front desk..... I cant wait to get back to Disney! Have a great anniversary trip!!!

20 years -- congrats !
Victoria and Albert's is a must ! We went to the World for our 10th and absolutely LOVED it !

Wow! We only just hit 12 years... what is your secret to such long & happy marriages?

Couple of ideas to share w/folks.
Many years ago, we did a carriage ride over at Fort Wilderness. Small bottle of champagne & a romantic ride. We lucked out & even got some glimpses of the MK fireworks along the way.

2 years ago we had dinner at Japan (Teppen Edo I think - the one w/the big grill in the middle of the table) and had pre-ordered a cake. I brought a special cake topper that I wanted to use & the CM did that before bringing it to the table for us. We suprised the other folks at the table by sharing our anniversary cake w/them. That was a lot of fun, and I think the other folks enjoyed celebrating w/us like that too.

You could also make a night of it at Downtown Disney. Treat yourself to a nice dinner (Ragalan Road maybe) and then tix to La Nouba.

And as everyone else said... get the buttons & tell everyone it is your anniversary. Remind them when you check in at the hotel, at every restaurant you check in to, etc. Sometimes the computer looses that info. so if you don't mention it they may not know.

Take her to Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian. Congrats! We went to Disney for our Honeymoon too!!! We've only been married for 1 month but we plann on celebrating many of our anniversaries at Disney!

My DH and I are going to WDW October 25th to November 1st to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary which is actually on the 26th. :yay:  We are staying at the POFQ. I was doing some research on line to find a nice romantic place to have our anniversary dinner and I was going to book Bistro de Paris, but have seen some iffy reviews, so I kept searching. I found a suggestion on Mouseweddings.com. The Grand Floridian will do private dinners around the resort. I called the number and they sent me an e-mail. We are booked for the semi-private outside balcony that overlooks the castle. You send them what you and your spouse like to eat and the chef will prepare a special menu for you. You get a bottle of wine or champagne included as well as a cake I think and you have your own personal butler for the night. He meets you in the lobby by the grand piano and escorts you to your location. Dessert is scheduled to coincide with the wishes fireworks. It's about $75 per person plus a fee for the butler and taxes and tip, but I think it will be well worth it. My DH still thinks I'm going to call at the 30 day mark and make reservations for Bistro de Paris so it will be a surpise the morning of our anniversary. I can't do Victoria and Alberts, DH wears a suit and tie everyday for work so he doesn't want to have to wear one on vacation. :goodvibes :goodvibes

DH & I just got back from celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary at the world. We stayed at AKL and were magically upgraded to the sunset savanna view at check in, which was perfect! When DH & I were planning this trip we decided we just wanted to relax and take our time and do whatever, whenever while we were at WDW. We have AP's that were expiring so we wanted to do little things in the parks that we hadn't done before. We did dinner at BOMA's our first night & got a special treat from them for our anniversary dinner. We spent alot of time just exploring the AKL, viewing the animals and relaxing in the pool. Exactly what DH wanted to do on his vacation (he's self-employed & this was the down time he needed). We also had dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe which was special. Our waiter, Ben, surprised us with champagne to celebrate. Overall, we found just relaxing and taking our time instead of rushing like we normally do was what made our anniversary vacation so special to both of us. Have fun & enjoy your anniversary celebration.
