Somehow we've never made it over to this part of the world. Hoping to check it out on this next trip. What do you to do like there? What time of day is best to go? Any tips you can share? TIA

Definitely go at night. We stayed at BWV last December and the view of the boardwalk all lit up was wonderful. There are also entertainers that come out at night - they were really enjoyable. Have fun!

I agree with the previous poster, go at night! We have stayed at the BW a few times and really love the atmosphere there. Maybe plan to arrive in the early evening. You could stroll over to the YC marina and rent a boat for a nice ride around the lake. Then have dinner at Spoodles or Flying Fish. Then maybe rent a surrey bike, go for dessert at the bakery or ice cream shop. Then stroll on the BW and enjoy the entertainment. They have magicians, and other entertainers. If you have kids they have face painting and hair wraps. Also we love to walk around the lake and check out the other resorts. You could also do some shopping at the store on the BW. If it's just adults you can try one of the clubs. There really is alot to do there for an evening out and it is alot of fun.

We also enjoy Boardwalk at night. Always a good time. We especially enjoy ending the evening at Jellyrolls, a dueling piano bar. It is adults only and a great deal of fun. They play request and once you go it will be a favorite stop! :cool1:

So if you're driving there you just follow the signs to the boardwalk and there's places to park like at downtown disney?? TIA

Good question! What if you're staying off site--Are you allowed to park somewhere?

You do follow the signs for Disney's Boardwalk. When you get to the guard just tell them you are there to eat/enjoy the BW and they will give you a pass to park at the guest parking lot. You could also valet park for a small fee. Not sure how much, DVC'ers get to valet for free.
Have fun!!

Just an FYI, there is no more face painting at teh Boardwalk. THere is still hair wraps and carictitures available though. Also there is a fairly new funnel cake kiosk.

Why just visit the Boardwalk, consider staying at one of the resorts. (Boardwalk Inn and Villas, Yacht and Beach Club, Swan or Dolphin) From my point of view, this is the best place to stay in all of WDW.
1) Location, Location, Location. You can walk to MGM and EPCOT. You never have to wait for your own two feet.
2) You can use the back entrance to EPCOT. What a timesaver after Illuminations!
3) Great Atmosphere - especially at night!
4) Breakfasts on the Fly at the Boardwalk Bakery or sit and relax at Spoodles (The breakfast pizza is my personal recommendation)
5) Jelly Rolls is great entertainment for adults! Great for people watching
6) ESPN Zone is the place to be for sporting events. (Looking forward to the NCAA B-ball tournament on our next trip in March)
7) Big River Brewery is another great place to hang out and people watch, or if you prefer, to keep an eye on your kid's playing the Basketball games.

Get the idea, there is a lot to enjoy around the Boardwalk!
