I am SO extremely angry at Yahoo right now. Two days ago I was checking my email account as usual (which, by the way, I've had since about 1997). Everything was fine the first time I checked it that morning, but when I checked it later I couldn't log in. Nothing I did worked; I switched computers, tried different browsers, etc. I figured it was a temporary glitch, so I waited.
Time went by with no change so I filled out some help form they have and explained the situation. Eventually they sent this message back:
"Yahoo! may, in appropriate circumstances and in its sole discretion, remove or edit any content and/or terminate the accounts of users who appear to have violated the Terms and Conditions."
I had absolutely no clue what they were talking about; I use the email account and Yahoo Groups the same way I always have, nothing out of the ordinary, nothing even close to being in violation of anything. I called customer service who basically looked up my account and told me nothing more than what the email sent to me said but mentioned I could go to abuse.yahoo.com and contact them to find out why this has happened and to see if it can be restored.
Since then DH has researched this problem online and has found that there are tons of people who this has happened to, for no reason whatsoever and so many of them say that Yahoo wouldn't even respond to them or help out. I am just so livid; I have emails saved in there going back years, I use the account for personal as well as some business (I understand it's a free service and you get what you "pay" for, but still), I have multiple Yahoo Groups I'm a part of (some of which I created and are now terminated), it's associated with my PayPal, etc., etc.

I know there are bigger issues in the world and I'm trying to put things in perspective but this really a horrible thing Yahoo has done... I'm through with them.
Anyone have a similar experience? Does anyone have recommendations for who provides excellent services that I could switch to? What about Google's gmail?
