Anyone have the Paypal Debit mastercard?

I have about had it with Chase Disney card. They are raising rates on me again. And I have good credit. Looking for something with 0% balance transfer fees. Can this card be used as a charge card also or does it all come out of paypal and debit accounts? thanks

I did not even know they had a debit card. All I have ever known about was the credit card.

The debit card is linked with your PayPal account. The one I have is not a credit card. It does, however, give 1.5% cash back. It used to be automatic after every purchase. Now, it's intermittent (every 1-3 months?).

Chase Disney is also raising my rates. I've had it. I'm canceling my card on Monday.

yes that would be the 1 I have. I am sick of it. i'm trying to pay the thing off but they keep raising it.

It only gives 1% now to new members (from what I've seen on the Paypal site).

And the cashback is not intermittent. They posted a change announcement on their site over the summer (I also received an email about the change). The cashback will be calculated once monthly based upon your purchases for the entire month. It's posted to your account within the first 7 days of the following month.

The PayPal debit card is not a charge card/credit card. All funds come from your PayPal account, so it won't help with balance transfers or anything like that. I'm not even sure if you can use it when your PayPal balance is zero, even when you have back-up funding (I've never tried, but I assume it would be declined).

well that still may be something to consider to replace using my CC. That way I can pay my balance down and pay for gas and such with the paypal. Where all is it accepted? I have a bank card but it is not a debit and they do not have a debit (that I am aware of) its a small credit union. So if I need to get gas, stop at fast food, or use a red box will the paypal work? I looked up some other CC issuers last night but they all seem to be charging at least the new amount if not more. It just really ticks me off bec/ I was down to around5% and looked forward to paying off my card. thanks

That is great to know! I wasn't sure if that would work or not.

And Cinbride, I haven't found anywhere yet that it was not accepted. It has a Mastercard logo and you have to use it as "credit" to get the 1.5% cash back (I don't get it on PIN-based transactions anyway). It seems to me to work just like a debit card with a CC logo that is linked to your checking account. I have had one for years and we often use it on our Disney trips for about anything (gas, groceries, tickets, rooms, food, etc.). I personally love it.

I work contract jobs that pay me through PayPal. I use my debit card for everything and never have had a problem. I even used it for our last Disney vacation. If your balance is zero the funds are pulled from your backup checking/savings account.

Does it cost anything to get/maintain this card? Also, do you leave the money in your paypal or do you transfer it? on the card? Then you can use just like a regular credit card basically?
