We are looking to buy this camera....We currently have the Kodak V570 and it takes great pictures except for low light situations(especially at Disney at the nighttime parades or some inside pictures). So, we are looking for a different camera that does better with low light. The Nikon CoolPix P5000 came out just a few months ago and was wondering if anyone on this DIS board has this one. Went to Roberts camera to check it out, and it looks really nice and they say it does a good job with low light. Also like the fact it has a viewfinder that our Kodak does not have. Any feedback would be appreciated!!!:goodvibes

Mine is close its the Coolpix P2 model and I love it. :thumbsup2

I think you will be pleased with it. The colors are AWESOME!!!

The P2 does good with low lights so I'm sure the p5000 does even better.

Here is a low light flash fired shot:

While they aren't perfect they are pretty good for snapshots to me. :thumbsup2

I have one with NO flash that came out good too by moving ISO to 400.

Here's one outdoors with flash that I'm impressed with really.

In true Disney theme and all ;)

Thanks everyone for all the great pictures!!! I think my DH and I have decided on the the Nikon camera! Looks like the night pictures turn out pretty well, better than what we have now. I am so tired of trying to lighten the picture up after the fact! What a pain!!! :headache:

Your welcome.

You won't look back. I used to be a Canon girl but I really wanted to try Nikon for the face priority focusing and I really have become a Nikon girl now. :thumbsup2 My next purchases will be a 35mm SLR probably the N80 or F80(same just imported) and a DSLR but not sure which model depends on how quick I can save but I'm thinking D80 or D200 if I can get enough saved.
