We will be there 4/21-4/24. We are taking a long weekend to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. I was thinking it would be nice to focus on attractions for adults since we are leaving DD with her grandparents. Any suggestions? TIA

What we did on our honeymoon was actually by a stroke of luck but it ended up being quite romantic. After watching spetcomagic we headed back to Fantasyland and went on the Dumbo they flying elephant. As we went up in the little elephant the fireworks started. It was quite romantic and special.

We are going in May for our 10yr anniversary (kids staying with grandparents). We are doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour, can't wait. Also going to try one or two more 'adult' restaurants.

Happy anniversary!

It's not particularly romantic, but here's another vote for Keys to the Kingdom! My wife and I did that on our honeymoon, and it was wonderful!

I found Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Small World, Rio de Tiempo, Great Movie Ride, and the Fantasyland Dark rides to be romantic. It was nice to just have a relaxing, slow moving vehicle and to just hold her hand. :)

But even more than the attractions, we had a balcony at the Beach Club and we had a romantic time just watching the Sunset.

Or, finding a nice spot to watch Illuminations, or Wishes.

Head over to Tomorrow Land right before the fireworks start and ride the Transit Authority (People Mover). Nice, calm, quiet, small car to yourselves, and as the fireworks start, you will see them at different points of the ride.

these arent attractions but something special to do, i suggest trying one of the wdw behind the scenes tours, me & my fiance really enjoyed the dolphins in depth at epcot, which was a dolphin interaction & education. we also did an illuminations firework cruise, & a moonlite specialty cruise with dessert & snacks from the yacht club on past trips, these are just magical. and we did a hayride at ft wilderness which was romantic cuddling in the hay on the wagon and a couples spa treatment at the grand floridian, which was very relaxing.

hope you have a wonderful anniversary at wdw and make sure to mention its your anniversary when making ps's and arriving for dining.

My husband & I also honeymooned in WDW. We had romantic dinners at the California Grill & Victoria & Albert's. Also....go over to the Polynesian & sit on the beach & watch the fireworks from MK. Really nice :goodvibes

We also did the Backstage Magic Tour. That was AWESOME! A long day but we loved it! :teeth:

Happy Anniversary ArielsMommy! What a great way to celebrate! :wizard:

My husband and I still haven't gone together to WDW - so I sometimes think of what we might like to do when we're there. Of course dark rides, especially Peter Pan and Spaceship Earth for me. Also the Tomorrowland Transit authority, too. I also find tht walking around WorldShowcase at night is quite romantic.

My DH and I also disneymooned at WDW. We loved it. We stayed at the Swan and often walked around the Boardwalk. We would sit down on one of the benches on a beach and just enjoy being there...together. We stayed away from the crowds as much as possible and just enjoyed the atmosphere. We were sure to hit all the rides at some point but the walking around and eating at nice places are what we remember the most.

Epcot was our favorite to walk around. Especially at night, of course, the Food and Wine Festival was going on so taht was a plus. But they have some of the nicest restaurants. Our most memorable time was eating at Mexico. The atmosphere is amazing and we told them it was our honeymoon and they gave us one of the nicest 2 person tables. It was right on the water and with the dark setting it was very romantic.

We loved to walk over in the dark to the Boardwalk and watch the Illuminations fire works. Or go into the parks and find a quiet spot (we really enjoyed hoping on the people mover (TTA) at Magic Kingdom and staying on there for the fire works.

What ever you decide will be wonderful for you. You just have to plan a head on the different places you know you will want to go so taht you don't miss out. Enjoy and have a very magical anniversary! :cloud9:

Check the fireworks schedule and make a ps at california grill so that you're there when the fireworks start. They dim the lights and play the fireworks music while you watch. Pure Disney magic!!

I would suggest the Illuminations Cruise. I heard about it on this board and I can't wait to go on it for my 2nd anniversary with DH. Also, the ride in Mexico is very sweet and romantic. At the end, you ride past the restaurant where everyone is eating, and it looks like you are really in Mexico. :goodvibes

Hate to be a party pooper, but I thought I read that they weren't doing this anymore.

I heard the same thing Dan?? ANyone else? And is it true? I was there in Dec & they still piped in themusic & dimmed the lights for the fireworks.

:goodvibes

When we were there in November, they didn't dim the lights and pipe in the music..........We went out on the roof thingy and the view from there is not that great. The fireworks explode very far from the castle. We couldn't hear the music very well out there either.

we're going on our Disneymoon in a couple months, and the first night we're there we're going on the Illuminations Cruise and then another night we're going to book a Carriage Ridge at our hotel, and then one OTHER night we're going to rent a bicycle built for 2 and ride it around...I also need to call and make our PS for various places, the Yachtsman is 2 table service meals (we have MYW + Dining) and we're going to do that the second night there since we're arriving so late on the first day we'd only need 1 meal (counter service will cover that nicely)

I second - or third - a trip over to the Polynesian Resort! Not only the fireworks, but taking a stroll at night through the grounds, with the tiki torches flickering , the palm trees swaying and the island music played through hidden speakers is tres romantique!

I was there a week ago, and they still did it. Of course, it was more romantic to me to go out on the walkway. I would suggest the back one though, there was almost no one on it but the front one was crowded. To get there, go as if you are going to the restrooms, and there will be a door leading out to it. Even though it was kinda chilly, it was nice to just rest my head on my boyfriend's shoulder and enjoy the show. Course, I'm 14, so I guess I really shouldn't be on this thread................
